"Turn on the lights! I wanna see all you people!"
Tom Petty stood smiling at center stage, imploring the lighting team to turn on the house lights at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. The Heartbreakers had just wrapped up "I Should Have Known It," the first single off Mojo and the last of the four songs the band plays as a part of their mini-set from the new album. Instantly, white floodlights snapped on, illuminating the more than 21,000 cheering Heartbreakers fans that crammed into the amphitheatre for another sold-out night on this Mojo, summer tour.
Everyone was in a festive mood at Darien Lake, from the thrill-seeking fans that rode roller coasters all day at the amusement park adjacent to the venue to David Crosby, who was celebrating his 69th birthday. Crosby, Stills and Nash once again delivered an incredible set to open the evening, including a spine-tingling version of Crosby's hippie anthem "Almost Cut My Hair."
Tom and the band took the stage just as dusk fell on upstate New York. "Listen to Her Heart" got things rolling out of the gate, "You Don't Know How It Feels" smoked and "Kings Highway," off 1991's Into the Great Wide Open, is turning into a great mid-show rocker after starting this tour as the set opener.
Hey Virginia, here we come! Come out and see us, and be sure to keep checking back for more updates!

awesome night
This was my second time seeing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers live and I was just as excited this time as I was the first..I have been a fan as early as I can remember and can never get enough!!!
We enjoyed the show from the front gate in the lawn with some friends and a few thousand more!! To top the great show off..when they came back out for their encore, my boyfriend of 5 yrs dropped to one knee during 'running down a dream' and asked me to marry him!! When I asked him why he did it at the Petty concert, he said he couldnt think of anywhere else that could compete with such a great band and great people all in one place :)
It was a great show and such a great time. So happy we went and cant wait for the next time, when we will be bringing my son (he will be 9) because he loves great music too!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job to Crosby, Stills and Nash also!!!! |

What an AMAZING show!
I just wanted to say that the show was awesome (as it always is)! Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers always put on a rockin' show! This was my 7th time seeing them live, and my friends and I were second row centre (which I didn't think could get any better) and then people in front of us left before the encore so I was able to stand at the front row centre stage for the encore!! I am still so excited!! I had a pretty big smile on my face the whole time hehe! Even though our car broke down on the highway during our trip back home to Ottawa Canada and we had to spend a night in the little town of Weedsport, we all agreed that we would have done it again in a heartbeat!! The concert was so much fun!! |

More songs please.
Great show as alway's...a little too short. When a crowd is this much into
the show they deserve more.
At least 3 more songs would have made it much better. Should have come back for more encores. |

Can't wait to hear, see and feel the energy and music for Saturday's show. Raised my sons on TP@THB music, and making sure my grandkids (yikes!!) know it too. Hope you guys have as much fun as we, your audience, do! |

Best band of them all!
12th time to see you guys in 3 different states. My son Tommy (26 years old) passed away recently...any chance you could play "No Reason to Cry" off the Mojo album? A beautiful song. Thanks. |

DEAR TOM
Mojo is the best album I've listened to in years. Looking forward to coming down from Canada with my buddy to play some golf and see TPATHB for the third time in the past 5 years at Darien Lake. It's surreal to see 20,000 fans singing every song at the top of their lungs, even in the pouring rain. If you get a chance to read this, I just have three more words: LET YOURSELF GO!

DEAR TOM
My buddy and I are coming down from Canada for our 3rd TPATHB show in the past 5 years. Last time, torrential rains came and knocked the power out twice. You guys did not disappoint and the show went on. It was surreal to see and hear 20,000 people singing every song at the top of their lungs. By far the best concert experience I've ever encountered. Tom, if you're reading this, I have just three words for you and the guys:
LET YOURSELF GO! |

Never gets old!
I think this will be 10th show dating back to 1987 back when Darien Lake, NY was general admission. It was sure worth the fight to claw up to the second row. The shows never get old. I have bought everything on vinyl before replacing them with CDs. Mojo is a fantastic album. I haven't seen "Something Good Coming" on any of the past set lists but really would love to hear this song. This may be one of the best songs that you've ever written. Please play this at Darien Lake. Legends never die. Keep up the great work! |
