I never fully appreciated how good Steve Ferrone is until I sat behind Mike Campbell's amp stack in Charlotte and watched the drummer play "Breakdown."

Steve is a gentle giant off stage, funny and gregarious, but hand him a pair of drumsticks and put him behind a kit and the guy turns into a drum-pummeling maniac. On songs like "Runnin' Down a Dream" and "You Wreck Me," Steve pounds out galloping rhythms with precision and ferocity.

On "Breakdown," Steve's playing is all feel, driving the song from deep in the pocket with a funky groove that gives the song a slinkiness that perfectly compliments Tom's pleading vocals. It's part Zigaboo Modeliste, part Bernard Purdie and part Clyde Stubblefield, but it's all Steve Ferrone.

We're headin' for Texas! Dallas, you're up first! Remember to check back for more from the Mojo tour!

First I want to say thanks to Tom and the Heartbreakers for this great show in Nashville. Being a hugh fan this is my second show and I have front row tickets for the Charlotte NC show in Sept. The only disappointing thing about the show was the same set list with the same hit songs. Don'd get me wrong the songs are wonderful but with so many hits why stick to only a handful. Between this year and back in 2008 I have heard certain songs 6 times live now. I would not mind a concert without Don't Come Around Here No More, Learning to Fly, or You Don't Know How it Feels. I Don't know if Tom or others people close to him reads these but you are not going to anger people if you play different hits like Walls, Wildflowers, Into The Great Wide Open, It's Good to be King, Yer so Bad, etc. Pass this along to Tom because a lot of hard core fans are feeling this way. We want to hear other songs and not just the same ones over and over. I just hope I am excited at the Charlotte show now because I guessed the exact order of song selection in Nashville. Please Tom change it up, let everyone wonder what will you play that night, you have the talent along with the rest of the guys. See you in Charlotte NC. I will be holding a sign in the front row asking if you and the band want to grab dinner and drinks after the show my treat

Was VERY disappointed when the date was changed but am looking forward to Sept. Can't wait in fact. I could see TP &HB at least once a week if not more.

Anyone out there getting excited about Charlotte? C'mon let's hear it! Too old and tired? Do you have iron poor blood? Feet don't want to shuffle around? Remember: "When times are hard When you start feelin’ low Let yourself go"

Thanks to TP and boys I've rediscovered Jimmy Reed, Elmore James, Jr. Wells, Muddy Waters, Allman Bros., etc. and it's really refreshing. Can't wait for the concert!

I've always been a huge TP&H fan and could not wait to see them again. AND seeing Joe Cocker was on my "bucket list"!! The show was re-scheduled for Sept 19 with the bearded boys instead of Cocker. ZZ is a snoozer. After 2 songs, they all sound the same.

It's like a drug. The more I get the more I want it. This is a nice change of pace.

Great LP. Can't wait to hear it live and in person. Keep them coming and don't wait 8 years for the next one! Tired of hearing the same old same old on the waves. Love the evolution and progression.

This old gesser and the wife are really digging this. It's been years since we have been to a concert and TP & HBs is the logical choice. Been "rockin' around" with these boys since the beginning. The music is still evolving and growing and is still bitchin'. Can hardly contain ourselves!
