Tour openers can be anxious occasions, but you'd never have guessed it had you been at Colorado's 1st Bank Center Wednesday night for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' first show of their 2012 Tour.

Tom and the band strode on stage just after 9 pm to a standing ovation from the relatively intimate 6,500-seat-capacity arena and promptly ripped into "Listen to Her Heart," the first song in a nearly two-and-a-half hour show that found the rock legends covering material from throughout their storied career.

Mixing old classics like "Here Comes My Girl" and "I Won't Back Down" with rarities like "Something Big" off Hard Promises and "Spike" off Southern Accents, Tom and the guys were on top of their game and having a great time digging deep into their catalogue to the great pleasure of the fans at 1st Bank. Not to be left out, the band rocked four songs off Mojo, the highlight of which was the sublime "Something Good Comin'" that had the crowd standing in stunned silence.

Night two at 1st Bank is up next, and then we head east to Little Rock!

Hey man, don't be an asshole, people are just trying to share their love of Tom Petty. Music is open to interpretation, trust me.

TPATH ROCKED the house last nite in Broomfield! Best Petty show I've seen in 33 yrs! Nice mix of classic and current - would still have loved more deep tracks but the band looked and sounded great! Poor Scott had alot of technical issues going on but no worries, we couldnt hear them! Wish I was staying another nite to see them again!

driving in the sunset...This is one of the best songs from MOJO. It was a long time after MOJO came out before I listened to MOJO. MOJO needs to be handled in bite sizes because they were expecting classic Tom Petty or a poppier Tom Petty. It is harder to access unless you are a big Tom Petty fan. A comparison between dogs on the run and southern accents... Dogs on the run.....this is the deepest end of the south that Tom Petty ever goes. Arguably southern accents..Southern accents chronicles life growing up in the South, Tom Petty's adolescence. This song cuts to the heart of it, it is straight in the heart of it. Southern accents....this is definitely Tom Petty reflecting on his childhood. I think this song is just accessible as Dogs on the run. As deep as they go in life in the South they are as easily accessible. Dogs on the run is more pop/rockish and Southern accents is more mellow but they both talk about Tom Petty's roots. This song in particular helps me understand Tom Petty's worldview. This is his chronicled life in the South.

I know your tour is over in late June but we would sure love to see you and the boys do Summerfest this year when you get back! It is just not the same when you guys arn't there! I believe it will still be going on July 13th & 14th being the last weekend of the fest! That would give you guys about a two week break before coming to beautiful Milwaukee! You guys are the "House Band" and it would make my summer and a lot of others as well! I thought about going to Georgia but it is just too far and would cost me almost $300 in tickets alone not to mention gas, food and lodging & a day off work! All I can say it is just where you guys belong & I know you guys arn't getting any younger & I'm worried I will never see you guys again. Anyway hope your tour goes well & be carefull leaving amsterdam with any goodies! This time smoke all your Hash before you leave! I guess I will just have to pray that you come!

The code is no where to be found. I'm glad one of the comment people could find it but I have not been able to nor have I heard back from the organization about what it is or where to find it. Would you the person who found it care to share it please? tram80221@yahoo.com
