The Gorge

The Gorge Amphitheater
George, WA
August 15, 2014

There’s nothing like big amphitheater sing-a-longs.
Four songs into the set, Tom and the band played “Into The Great Wide Open” off the album of the same name released in 1991.
It’s been off the set list for the last several years but has emerged on this tour as an early-show favorite for the guys, especially when they’re playing to a big crowd of fans that know the words and sing along once the chorus comes around.
“Into the great wide open
under them skies of blue
out in the great wide open
a rebel without a clue.”
So You Want To Be A Rock ‘n Roll Star (The Byrds cover)
Mary Jane's Last Dance
American Dream Plan B
Into The Great Wide Open
Forgotten Man
I Won't Back Down
Free Fallin'
Tweeter and The Monkey Man (Traveling Wilburys cover)
U Get Me High
Hard To Find A Friend
You’re So Bad
Learning to Fly
Shadow People
I Should Have Known It
Runnin' Down A Dream
You Wreck Me
American Girl

The Gorge

Tom and the crew didn not dissapoint.  He wore our Mad Hatter hat in the 2010 Mojo Tour and signed our hat for the 2014 Hypnotic Eye Tour!  Special thanks to Tom and Mike.  Mike blowing kisses at Alice makes me smile.  These guys have never forgotten their roots or their fans.  Definitely a class act!  We will be there next time too.

I've never been to the Gorge. How are the acoustics? Can anyone tell me how it compares to Red Rocks?

Been to both very similar sound but the sun goes down the stars come out and it's magic!

Did both shows at Red rocks 2010 and both Gorge 2010. Go to the Gorge if you can. The Acoustic edge I can't really say because I was front row for all but give the edge to less ear ringing at the Gorge Gorge also takes the cake for beauty and experience. Shure Red rocks has the RED rocks but you can't see them watching the show..

Hmmmm what to do.  I have gone to the last two concerts at the Gorge and love love loved the show. This is my favorite band to come see  Right up there with Sir Paul.. Though I would really love to come to the show in the Gorge in August I am afraid it is not in my senior budget.  If I could afford to I would be there again in a heartbeat.  Have a great show and if this silly old gal can find a way there I will definitely be in attendance.
