Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers donated coveted tickets to their sold-out
summer tour in a special auction to raise money that will specifically help
support Habitat for Humanity affiliates in areas affected by the June 2008
Midwest floods.
The band played in many of the cities in areas affected by the floods and
raised more than $85,000 for Habitat For Humanity flood relief. The band
offered up front row and other premium seats with all proceeds from the
auction, including face value of the tickets and any associated fees, going
to Habitat For Humanity*s Midwest flood relief efforts.
