Absolute Rubbish!
Tom Petty of all guys! WTF!! Come on Tom get a handle on YOUR PR! This is 100% bullshit. Us aholes dropping our bucks for years and years and some dumb ass flash in the pan called Twitter, (for Twits I'd imagine), gets a front row? I flew to Paris to catch a balcony seat at the REX and some yutz gets a front row seat from Twitter? Tom man, NOT COOL DUDE!

As Rick56 states... it ain't really right that such tix are given away free to any gimp who just happens to be on twitter to see the message, when true and REAL fans would already have tix and be queuing up to get in the venue. Luckily I managed to get 2nd row tix to the RAH shows, but I had to actually pay for them, not just given them for jumping up with my hands in the air like a dick!!!!
EVEN at a gig like TP & TH, you still had idiots literally every 5mins going in and out to the f'in bar. Why do these pricks even go to gigs???? They spend more time at the bar than watching the gig. And most of all, it is RUDE not only to the band playing, all these gimps keep getting up every 5mins, but rude and annoying to people who are actually there to watch and witness the gig, having to keep moving and/or standing up each time these dicks force their way in and out! Even dicks who were in the front row did this - nothing enrages me more than these pricks. That, and idiots who spend the whole gig filming it on their damn phones - you have EYES dickheads - use them!!!!!

...those people had to scalp the purchased tickets they already got, or what? cause, they were fans, were they not? and fans have tickets? maybe I - as a HCC:er - could've bought their old tickets to get my seat improved in a way HCC didn't allow, since they were withholding half front row each night to giveaways. I shall try to remeber all these things next time around! I can't help but feeling stupid to the max for joining this club. :D

Great Idea
I sat next to those guys in Stockholm. I bought HCC tickets, then I went online everyday more or less and a week before the show I got front row tickets at normal price through ticnet.
This is a great way of spreading the love, the experience of Tom Petty live. I'd rather have fans that follow Tom Petty on TWITTER win tickets and there is luck involved than some scalpers that join fanclubs, buy tickets and resell them at 4 times the cost
And thanks also for having the FB contest. I won tickets to ROA show 18 June and to see this band live at the Royal ALbert Hall from 8th Row was AMAZING!

since it just has to be the real die hards skipping to buy a ticket, instead just waiting to be handed one for free, I will do the same next tour! no more hcc, paying in advande and standing in lines when all the fun is to be had elsewhere. now when they are mentioning it, this is the very definition of creativity! :)

The front row tickets should be available to fan club members on the rpesales, not given away like toys to anyone who happens to be on twitter at the right time. Most of us were in the queue to get in at the time this was going on (with the fan tickets we paid for)

Thank you for letting us share in some of your European adventures. Was amazing to see some happy Tom Petty and heartbreakers fans on your tour. Can't wait for the next tour,( maybe I'll be lucky and win tickets) but either way I'll be there.
