As previously reported five guitars belonging to Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Ron Blair and Scott Thurston were stolen from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' tour production rehearsal studio last week.
We are happy to report that the guitars have been recovered by the Culver City Police Department.
Tom Petty says, "I am extremely grateful to the Culver City Police Department for a job well done and touched by the outpouring of good wishes and concern from our fans and friends."
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' 2012 Tour begins tomorrow night in Broomfield, CO.

i was really shocked when i read on yahoo news bout the guitar stealing. i thot how in the heck did these bozos get their hands on bands guitars. i am so glad that they have been recovered. rite on tom petty, you will always be my #1 heartbreaker and your band is a freakin force of nature. you keep on rockin good buddy.

I have fretted and worried and thought of little else. The Rock Gods listened and not a minute to late! I am soooo freaking happy for you guys!! Like Tom (and others...) were, I was heart broken when I learned of the loss of his prized guitars, and I am so relieved that they have been recovered. Thanks too, for getting the word out that they'd been found. A very good outcome to a potentially disasterous situation!
