Tom stood outside of his dressing room with Benmont, the bandmates hovering of a smartphone.
“It was last night according to this report,” said the Heartbreakers long-time keyboard player. “I think it would be good for us to do it.”
After the band wound down “Free Fallin,” Tom stepped to the mike.
“One of our favorite bands from the ‘60s that put out some of the greatest singles was Paul Revere & the Raiders,” Tom said. “We were very sorry to hear that Paul Revere passed away last night, so we thought we would do one of his songs in his honor.
