Outside Lands Festival
San Francisco, CA
August 9, 2014
For the past six years, the Outside Lands Music Festival has called Golden Gate Park home, bringing music back to San Francisco's Polo Fields for the first time since the Grateful Dead in the mid- to late-'60s.
For their Saturday night headlining set, Tom and the band tipped their cap to the Haight Ashbury legends and Jerry Garcia, who passed away 19 years ago that day, with a cover of "Friend of the Devil" featuring Tom on harmonica and solos traded between Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell.
It was a classy move by a classy band.
