  • Roy Orbison Honored With Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame

    The late Roy Orbison is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during an unveiling ceremony on Jan. 29.


    Orbison grew up in Wink, Texas, and recorded for Sun Records, becoming part of the label's artist roster. During his tenure on Nashville-based Monument Records, he recorded a string of hits such as "Only the Lonely," "Blue Bayou," and "Oh Pretty Woman." In addition to his solo career, he spent part of the '80s as a member of the Traveling Wilburys with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and George Harrison.
