Some live music venues are special because of their historical significance.

Others are considered special because of their acoustics.

And there are those spots that are special because they have a vibe about them.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the rare venues that checks all three boxes.

You could tell Tom and the band were amped just by walking into their dressing rooms backstage before the show. Everyone was all smiles and bouncing with a nervous excitement that only comes before playing legendary venues like Red Rocks. Walking onstage, the band was met with bright white house lights, illuminating the band and 9,000 Heartbreaker fans crammed into the amphitheatre between Ship and Creation rocks; an enormous roar that seemed to echo and reverberate throughout.

Night two at Red Rocks coming up!

Hey Tom, one more kicking the bucket off my list. Flew in from West "BY GOD" Virginia to see you guys. Had the time of my life. You'll rock, Red Rocks rock, Colorado rocks. Hope to see you again. Seen you in Nashville at the Ryman last with Mudcrutch. Another kick. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers rule.

We love you, Tom!!!! And all of the Heartbreakers! We have seen you so many times but this was the best. You are so right...Red Rocks is the most amazing venue ever and to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in this fantastic place was a dream come true. I bribed two of my coworkers to sit on the phone when the tickets went on sale last December. I just could not miss this concert. We are proud to call Denver home now but I'm from Miami and spent a ton of time in Gainesville in the 70s . I have followed the band for all 40 years. My husband is a musician from London and even though we come from different parts of the world we're united by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. We have a musician son and one of the first CDs he stole from us was Wildflowers. We raised him right! He's 32 now and still a huge Heartbreakers fan. Thank you for an amazing show! We'll never forget it!
