Whereas the Hollywood Bowl was surrounded by the kind of frenzied electricity that can only be found in Tinseltown, Saturday's show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine had a more laid-back vibe that permeated throughout the venue as fans gathered in the late afternoon to watch ZZ Top.

Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard have been playing music together for four decades, but you wouldn't have known it watching them Saturday at Irvine. The Texas trio were all smiles onstage, chatting and joking with the audience in between hits including, "La Grange," "Waitin' for the Bus" and "Jesus Just Left Chicago." With the San Diego and Phoenix shows rescheduled for next week, Irvine was ZZ Top's final show on the Mojo tour. Everyone – from Billy, Dusty and Frank to their entire amazing crew – will be missed.

Saturday nights have been good nights on the Mojo tour, and Irvine lived up to expectations. Tom and the band slipped Chuck Berry's rocking “Carol” into the set early, which got the crowd dancing along to Benmont's rollicking piano riffs and Mike's soaring leads. "Good Enough," which Tom introduced as his favorite song off Mojo, continues to evolve and develop into a concert staple as the band explores the song’s crooks and crevices for more room to improvise. Watching the band play this song each night has been a lesson in the growth of a classic-in-the-making.

Next up is San Diego with Los Lobos! Two shows left on the Mojo tour, so be sure to check back for more photos, videos and recaps!
