The clock on the dressing room wall glowed 8:59, which usually means Tom and the band have started their walk to the stage, but tonight was special.
Earlier that day, Hypnotic Eye was named the number one album in the country, giving Tom and the guys their first number one hit in their illustrious careers.
As the guys gathered together minutes before show time, Steve Winwood stopped in to say hello and offer his congratulations.
“Rock ‘n roll is back on top, at least for one week,” Mike Campbell said with a grin.
“Thank you, Steve,” Tom said as the rest of the guy looked on. “It certainly means a lot coming from you.”
