DTE Music Center
Clarkston, MI
July 18, 2017
The amphitheater outside Detroit, MI may now be called DTE Music Center, but to most everyone on Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ 40th Anniversary tour, it will always be Pine Knob.
Tom and the guys first played Pine Knob on the Damn the Torpedoes tour and have played the legendary amphitheater 13 times since, most recently on the Hypnotic Eye tour in August 2014.
“We first came to Pine Knob in 1980,” Tom said after the last notes of “You Wreck Me” rang out across the legendary amphitheater. “I want to thank you, Michigan, for coming out back then and every time since!”
