Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers wrapped up the U.S. leg of their 2012 Summer Tour in fine fashion in Austin on Saturday, rocking the sold-out Erwin Special Events Center on Cinco de Mayo.

Regina Spektor, the immensly talented New York City-based songstress who opened the 10 shows in the U.S., once again delivered an incredible set backed by her trio. Spektor has proven to be a more than capable opener for Tom and the band, captivating audiences with her unique, piano-driven pop songs and gorgeous voice. Safe to say many Heartbreakers fans are now Regina Spektor fans due to her incredible performances on this tour.

Tom and the band stormed the stage just before 9 pm to rapturous applause and cheers. Never ones to leave anything left in the tank, the Heartbreakers delivered the show of the tour, a great mix of songs powered by inspired playing by one of the best bands on the planet. "Free Fallin'" is almost always a glorious sing-a-long, but Austin gave it some added punch with the loudest audience vocals all tour. Mike Campbell was on fire all night, ripping solo after solo - including an absolutely monstrous one on "It's Good To Be King" - that brought smiles to the fans and everyone on stage. As if on cue, the skies opened shortly after the Heartbreakers' incendiary set, and Austin was deluged with an epic thunderstorm only found in the great state of Texas.
