Well put Mike! Well put people.. JJ.. will miss you!
Good call! Generally speaking, the social awareness and generosity of this band speak heaps of their hearts and minds and what better way to honor that and support "the good side of the force", as it were, than for us ourselves to take part in some of what we feel strongly about and pitch in when given a chance?
Of course, I wasn't effected in this specific case, but I've already thought along the same lines as you guys anyway.. Hence I've long since traded my -from both sides of the rope deemed as highly unsound and defunct- membership in the HCC for a worthier cause.. ;) Also, I auctioned off a mint condition promo print TP record recently for charity purposes.. But -having to think about myself as well- that was just 'cause I had a spare copy! :D
Anyways, TPHB, fellow fans.. You guys rock! Been enjoying reading and hearing about the tour and the way this odd occurance have played out in the end. Thanks to all for being real in the face of grim greed! Enjoy the rest of this awesome tour - You lucky b-rds..!!
Europe says "Hi" and "We miss you!!" Please come back and play 2/3 shows any time!! :) Even half shows would do it (- at least as long as the evil middlemen, ticket ghouls and mobsters are duly left empty handed and stupid looking) We - as I'm sure you understand - more than gladly pay for the music, for the fun and the decency between people, for friends helping friends and for good people rocking out with other good people, and screw the rest of it. Being it 1, 2, or.. 4 thirds of the way, you rock!
Wow, that is a great, fast and professional way to handle an unfortunate situation. Now- I wasn't there- but what seems like a highly unprofessional (bordering the bizarr) handeling of things by local reps and auths, seems to have been extremely swiftly and nicely made-up for by the band reps. That this sort of clean up can still be done - and this fast -despite dealing with a multitude of various biz godzillas, shows it's still possible to play by sound and rightous rules in today's business. Kudos to TP! (Now, just don't wait for LAFD to show up each time you feel like making honorable and independent decisions, sticking to your famous integrity. In fact - instead of putting out "fires" (not that this one couldn't have happened anyway, but still) - act preventive and ditch all the mf:s using the TP brand in dubious ways, pronto.)
Just one thing though that I'm curious about. I wasn't able myself to get tickets to any shows this year, due to an unclear cluster-f*** of HCC- issues, but I was under the impression that at least these ultra special and wonderful recidency shows was totally sold out and otherwise generously handed over for free to valued and/or social media company customers. Still, just now this clause cought my eye: Customers who purchased artist released tickets night of show at the venue must bring back their original ticket stub to the Fonda Theatre beginning Wednesday for a full refund. Wow. Does this actully mean there where tickets sold at the door?! If so - d*mn me for not flying to LA to give that a go. I didn't even dream it, given the rareness and purity of the occasion. This is the real deal, what playing live music is really all about, making the rest of it seem like business, poses and excuses - and there is tickets at the door?! It's a christmas miracle. In june. :) :/ Yay for more dates in coming years and a truley real and cool way of doing business!
OMG!! - when. the. time. comes.
why oh why was I so far away from that one?
man, those really are awesome photos. kudos
