I have tremendous respect for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Their music is soul-satisfying, and so good to hear over and over again. I am impressed with his organizing The Travelling Wilburys, to record with legends (himself included) like Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne for such a time as this. Imagine the talent in the studio when those albums were recorded. I think it's wonderful, and I love both of the albums. I'm a fan of Tom Petty for life. I am thankful for their gift to me as often as I hear their music. I am a retired grandma, along with my husband, raising three little granddaughters. They are 9, 7 and 5. They all have their very favorite Tom Petty songs: The 9 year old goes around singing Free Fallin', and loves the Live Anthology version, so she can say "home with broken hearts" with Tom! The 7 year old (special needs child) will run around the house singing "the waiting is the hardest part", "I won't back down" or "workin on a mystery runnin down a dream". The little 5-year old (also special needs) is only sure she's listening to Tom Petty when she hears "Wildflowers". It's her very favorite song. She recognizes him when there is a picture of him with sunglasses on, otherwise she says "Dat not Tom Petty!!" It is my dream to see Tom Petty and the band in concert one day. My very favorite recordings are the Live Anthology set. They are in my truck and in the house, and always available!
Playing my Gretsch, singing, raising grandchildren (keeping us young and very tired!), and riding our 07 Harley Electraglide UC when we can get away. Our granddaughters are 5, 7 and 8, and the two youngest are special needs children. Loving them thru all of their struggles is a full time job, so I savor my TPATH music, and consider it to be my RESPITE care. They get me through it.
TPATH, of course! Tom's very sexy voice and his awesome talent for writing, performing and arranging music is absolutely addictive! And I've loved Bob Dylan since 1965, when I was a junior in high school in Montana. His music has been a part of my life from then til now.
