Class act Mr, Petty, thank you. I sure hope the venue at very least pitched in for this.
UPDATE ON REFUNDS: I had called ticketmaster and filed a complaint about the show and how it ended, asking for a refund. They said they would look into it. Today, they called me back and said the venue, promoter said they will NOT be issuing a refund, that the show was only cut short 20 minutes, which, is not true by the looks of the previously posted set lists. They said I should take up my complaint on tompetty.com. I can't believe this has turned out like this. Horrible experience. Who is going to fix this?
Everyone should call ticketmaster and complain. Ticketmaster is filling out a form to send to the venue to request money back but we need multiple people to call 800-653-8000. If nobody calls The Fonda gets away with this. Not cool..
Write a comment here (no HTML pleaseNo you're not too old for this. I'm 27 and am dissapointed in what happened tonight. It is a disgrace and a dissapointment to TP&THB. You sing, "Don't do me like that????" But I jumped through hoops, I signed up for your fan club, bought $45 whiskey glasses, then bought $500 tickets and I can't even see an entire show??? This is ridiculous! If you want to make ammends, here is my email address firstname.lastname@example.org if you don't, consider it a fan lost. It breaks my heart, but that was pitiful. I loved you....
I'm 27, I've been a Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers fan since I could even remember. While this is a good line-up and many are excited for these, "deep cuts," to be played. It is my first time, ever actually getting the opportunity to see Petty live. Songs like Mary Jane's last dance, Breakdown, Last DJ and Running Down a Dream have been an anthmn for my generation.
I often boast TP&H as a band who has effectivley spaned five decades and wrote Mary jane's Last Dance, the last great American Drug Song. I ask myself what were the key components/ songs to make this possible? I Argue that songs like, "The Best of Everything," and "The Gunslingers," were not nearly as influential or magical as the latter. So Saturday, please, make this California boy who was born in the wrong generation happy by playing some of the stuff that made you, in his eyes, idols and american treasures.
