I echo everybody's sentiments. Kudos to TP and the Heartbreakers for sticking to your word and making a considerable gesture toward those of us in attendance. It was a huge bummer to have such a great night turn so unexpectedly sour, but I now tip my hat to the band for taking care of it's fans. I like the idea that many have mentioned about some kind of chartiable donation with the moneys refunded. I will surely consider that.
Here it is in Tom's own words. He says "If I have to pay it myself, everyone from last night will be reimbursed..."
Now, this isn't his or the band's fault, but someone (the promoter/venue) needs to be held accountable. And since Ticketmaster is refusing to even acknowledge any mishandling, Tom and the Heartbreakers team need to step up and force the issue. It's the right thing to do! I'm left with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth on the way this was handled. Shame on everyone responsible.
