Last night at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, and Benmont Tench took the stage for special guest performances with the Allman Brothers Band.
Benmont contributed piano to "The Sky is Crying" before Tom and Mike also took the stage for great versions of Dylan's "It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry" and "Highway 61 Revisited."
Benmont returned for the "Southbound" encore which also included harmonica from Bruce Willis.

Tomorrow Bob Dylan will release his 46th album, "Together Through Life". Our very own Mike Campbell played guitar on all 10 tracks. Mike had this to say about the experience:
"These were special sessions. All the players were in a loose and inspired mood and ideas were flowing freely throughout. In fact, there were more songs recorded than actually made the album."

Earlier today George Harrison was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. George is the 2,382nd person to be honored with a star.
The ceremony was a star-studded and celebratory affair. Packing Vine Street in front of the Capitol Records building were fans, friends, and family of George including his son Dhani and widow Olivia, Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, T-Bone Burnett, Eric Idle, Joe Walsh, fellow Wilburys Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty, and Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Ron Blair, Scott Thurston, and Steve Ferrone. Benmont Tench was out of town today.
JJ Cale's tour continued last night at the Triple Door in Seattle, WA and those in attendance were treated to guest appearance by Mike Campbell. Sitting on an amplifier near Cale's drum riser, Mike played the whole set and encore!
