I have seen Tom Petty many times now, and this is the first time I have bought tickets and don't have a clue where I will be sitting. I got the premium package in 08, and got to see the seats before I purchased. I was so excited. Now I am worried, spending $500 for 2 tickets and can't even tell my husband where we are sitting. I bought them right at 10 when the presale started, so hoping for the best. Also, I can't figure out if parking is included. Anyone know about that?

The fact that Tom, the band, and management reserve literally the best seats in the house for fans, and offer security measures to stop ticket brokers from getting them is pretty cool if you stop and think about it. Maybe the first 15 rows seem pricey at $250/ticket, but consider what you'd pay at StubHub -- without the cool swag -- and it really is a bargain in comparison (and I paid for two premium packages for the Estero show). I will echo the comments, however, about varying the setlist -- add some deep tracks and some of the amazing songs from your 30-plus-year catalog. PLEASE!!! The greatest hits aren't the only great songs!

I have seen TP&HB over 10 times now in the past 5 years. On several tours I attended multiple concerts. This year however I passed and by what I am reading it was a good thing. No offense to any fan or TP but hearing the same songs, no variety, just one change hear and there is not worth the money. Best concert in that time was in 08 the tour after the Superbowl. Plenty of difference and a good 2 hour playing time. I just feel these premium packages are becoming so extent to the point of ridiculous just to drive up the price. Premium package should be front row, maybe second, that's it. The 2010 show seemed like a last min mess with Mojo being released later, changing tour dates etc. This seems like the same deal. Honestly they probably were not even going to do shows in the US this year only in Europe and such but didn't want the back lash. Simply put I am huge fan of TP&HB but I don't feel like listening to another greatest hits CD this year. He will probably play different stuff for Europe since they have their own favorite songs. Anyway enjoy the concert if you go, just look at the tour from last year and you will have the setlist although it may have a variation here or there. Me, I will wait to see if Dylan comes around again. At least then I know seeing him back to back at least 5 or 6 songs will be different.

would like to know the set list

Somebody must take control of a better way to do this whole process...Isnt it up to Tom? Stubhub bought a ton of tickets up and is selling them way over the price...It ought to be illegal...Its so wrong...dont get how fans get the shaft...I LOVE TP and the HBs always have but stuff like this makes me wonder about them and how they dont get involved...I thought Tom was for the underdogs?

There is not reason not to allow choice of seat locations during purchase. Last time in 2010, Red Rocks, third row center, great show, but, I got to choose those. Yes, some will get the good seats, but, most will be stuck in row 15, just watch. These tickets are already onsale at ticketliquidators.com. How is that possible?? Have a nice day.

Guys, TP is not out to screw us, his loyal fans. I have spent way too much money on these premium tickets packages over the past couple of years and the seats have always been great! There is NO WAY you will be more than 5 rows back if you bought them early. Maybe the front row, may row 2 or 3, but you will be close - and that makes it even more fun than you would have at the show otherwise. That said, Tom, please play a little longer and vary the setlist a bit. No need to be as prolific as Springsteen, but for $250 a ticket I hope to be pleasantly surprised!

We attended the shows in 2008 and 2010. Managed to get front row in 2010. Even managed to get our photos on the 2010 tour page as Alice and the Mad Hatter. For those of you that don't know, the Gorge is probably the best outdoor venue in the US. That said, I would like to know if anymore tour dates are going to be posted. I am considering the Austin show. With the cost of airfare, hotel, and rental car I'm not sure if I would do it without seat location information. We just got screwed at the Prince concert in Tacoma. Weak performance on his part for $430 a ticket. Tom and the HB always have a great show. His last tour date is scheduled for 6-30-2012 which is early for them. I guess they deserve to enjoy Summer too, but am really wondering if they are going to make the West Coast... I would much rather attend at the Gorge.

Last tour was lame. The band played for 1:45 here in FLORIDA, and out of the dozens of TP shows I've seen, it was the worst. I thought that was the "last" tour? WTF ever happened to $25-$30 tickets for TP fans that don't have $200 for a VIP ticket????? G R E E D Y just like the others now... Sad.

I just bought two premium packages for Estero and am really surprised that I don't have confirmed seat assignments. Unfortunately, I was already committed on the site to buy before I realized my receipt had no seats shown. I've been waiting for several years to get to a TP concert, will be flying to FL from OH, getting a hotel....not cheap. I would have expected better from TP. Anything you guys can do to fix this?

I want to buy the tickets from the fan club, but now am skeptical due to the other postings? Please let me know when I can order with a Password. I am ready to go, I hope to hear back from you today...Thanks...

Surprised to hear you don't get to see your seat location for the premium package. I purchased in 2008 and DID get to see in advance. I guess I will be saving some money this tour. I have seen every tour but 3 since 1985 and TPAH have always been great to their fans so I don't know what is up this time around.

Can someone from Tom Petty answer about these problems? I absolutely don't think it is right that I spent so much money I won't know until the day I get to the venue where my seats are...I posted earlier. I don't think it is right that you are allowing this to happen. You are normally so good to fan. We have been apart of the fan club for years and years and to see our favorite band this way, it isn't right. Someone from the website please respond!

I seen your mojo tour in Calgary Alberta. I bought the mojo package for your tour there in Canada. I live in the US and I did not ever receive my mojo package items. I received an email with a code but was unsuccessful in trying to enter the code. Please send me a message on how I can redeem these codes. It was on Awesome Concert by the Way...Thanks

Since we have no word the band is playing near the NW US, considered getting (2) premium packages, buying airfare to the east, motels for two nights, etc. But, if I can't even see where we will be for $250/ticket, don't think so. Didn't buy packages in 2008 when they didn't show where the seat was, did in 2010 when they did show where the seat was. It was great...Too bad they went back to the old no-show seat system, especially when you can't even get a non-package seat in the fanclub pre-sale any closer that 20 or so seats back...disappointing...

What's up? Can't use password? What's next?
mscaggs's picture

Bummer, they will not show you what ticket you are buying. I think I am done with the premium tickets. You can end up anywhere. If I am going to pay $500 for 2 tickets, I want to choose where I will be.

If I could be sure to get seats in the first 3 rows, I would buy the package deals....having seat assignments at the venue is not good enough for me! I wouldn't give 50 cents for row 15. I have been there before and you cannot see a thing. This is really sad! Long time fans are being shut out on good seats. To those of us who have seen the band before the first 5 rows are all we want. Once you have been there, moving back just doesn't do it. many are willing to pay the package prices etc...but must be guaranteed a good seat. I spent all morning trying to get a decent seat in the fanclub sale and couldn't get anywhere I could see the band without a ladder or binoculars. Then, ticketmaster went down. Very frustrating!! It doesn't have to be this hard.

Trying to buy the premium package and it goes to VIP Nation on the Petty sight BUT VIP Nation does not have Tom Petty on their concert ticket list.......not good
bon's picture

with live nation to get the package. then use the generic password. for those of you who haven't done this yet, might save a little frustration.
Anonymous's picture

I think that it is ridiculous that live nation doesn't give you seat assignments when you order them. It is based on when you buy the tickets. I bought two tickets for the Estero concert and two for the Orlando concert within two minutes of them going on sale during the presale. I do not think that it is right that I will not know until I get to the venue. I just spent $1,000.00 dollars. I should know where I am sitting!!!!

They really made it tough on a lot of us by putting tickets on sale so soon after the tour announcement, and now they give us the details on the premium packages(except for the price!) one day before the pre-sale! And no opening act announcements! What kind of bull is that??? It would just be nice if they'd trust us with their secrets, you know, tour dates, opening acts, ticket prices... in time for those of us who aren't rich to get our finances and schedules together. Just sayin'.

I am originaly from Horsens Denmark. Now living in Chicago. Have seen Tom Petty many times at Summerfest in Milwaukee. We are planing on going to Denmark for the concert, will we be able to by buy tickets on pre-sale. Thanks, Jens Kirkegaard JensKirk@aol.com
