Send us any questions you may have and some will be chosen to be answered on TomPetty.com by the relevant crew members.

How Long is the process in planning a Tour? From Birth to Hittin the Road?

I went to the Tampa show and I couldn't help but notice that someone threw a shoe on stage. A brown shoe. Not sure why maybe out of anger Tom's playing that song I hate or just drunken craziness. Do the boys get that kind of loven at every show? It was my first time seeing them live and I hope not my last. So come back around this way soon. PS: I'm not the one who threw the shoe.

How does this amphitheatre work out for you guys as far as sound and effects go--and do you ever get to get down to the sandbar below? And how does the venue rate overall compared to others?

What kinds of beers do the Heartbreakers and the crew request while on tour? Does the band have special requests in their riders?

Congrats to Tom and the Heartbreakers and all involved! This is a great album and the Omaha concert was GREAT! This album is pure, original and is absolutely the way they sound the best. I've been a fan since the first album, fan club and all and I'm totally amazed at how they keep getting better with time. To all of us TPATH fans, cherish this! This kind of band and their longevity, plus the great sound does not come around often, We are really living some history here! Also, they are playing like they are having fun and getting along. Not many of us can say that about our jobs. Long live TPATH!

Hello stage crew, as a frequent TPATHB's concert several this tour, I'm wondering what goes on back stage? Does the band stay together before the show or are they preparing individually for the concert? It's amazing how they read each others signals, a wave of the arm and everybody know what that means. How are you the crew signaled if you are needed for a technical purpose? And finally thanks for all your work for the band, and continue please to throw out those picks!

Chinner: I love guitars. You have a beard. You love guitars. I don't have a beard. This could be a love connection.

Last time Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played in the great city of New Orleans, LA was August 26th, 2003. Why hasn't he came back? Also why is it taking Tom Petty so long and his tour promoters over 7 plus years to play in the great city of New Orleans, LA. PEACE JEFF JTW

Hello Scott, This is Nancy Weber, Judy's cousin... I grew up as a Motown girl. It wasn't until my second husband shared his love of old rock and roll...that I found a whole new world. It's all about the story and my story is full of rock and roll now. I love Tom Petty too. I am so proud of you Scott … Love Nancy

Saw you guys twice on this 2nd summer leg Mansfield, MA and Saratoga, NY! My question is: what model of guitar is Michael playing on Don't Come Around Here No More and what is he using for effects to get that sitar sound? Also, I know he switches guitars for the outro solo at the end of the song and what model is that guitar as well?

what do you do during breaks on the tour, like now when there is time off till the next leg starts. do you go home for a while, or tour the next/last city or what. also, if tom and the guys leave immediately after the show, do they get right back on the bus/plane and go to right to the next stop..

Hello crew! I'm interested in a close up look at Ben's keyboard rig. (Being a keyboard player myself, we're very interested in this kind of stuff). A few geek technical questions: Did Ben add a Nord keyboard on top of his piano? What model Leslie speaker is he using with his Hammond organ (and what are you using to mike it)? Is Ben running his keyboards in mono or stereo? How often do you have to tune the Yamaha piano? What keyboard is Scott using? Ben's and the the rest of the band are the best! MOJO is now one of my favorite TP & H albums! Keep on going guys (at least as long as Chuck Berry)!

Do all of you guys have other jobs that you do when the band is not touring? I know many have been with the band for a long time now...so what do you do in the off time? I also want to add that Jim's stage set and the sound is phenomenal. Great job! The best in the business.

i was wondering, what does every one do on the time off once a leg is completed. do you go home for a while if there's enough time or do you visit the last/next city. also, if the band leaves immediately after the show is over, where do they go. back on the bus/plane/hotel ?

Hey Guys, I'm in the high-end Audio/Video business and really enjoy top flight concert sound. I've seen TPATHB's 50+ times over the years and they consistently have the best sound on the road. I have a lot of interest in knowing the details. IE the horsepower, power requirements, Pro Tools, setup topology, ETC... It would be great to be able to sit in with your engineer at a show and see how it's done! Dale Colorado

Any chance of a tour to Australia ? It's been a long time since 1987. The Bluesfest Festival in Easter 2011 would be perfect - heh!

With all the preperation and time vested with the tour. What city has been your payoff as far as the audience reaction. Honeybee

How many trucks and buses does it take to move the band and crew from place to place? Do the roadies, security, lighting, and sound people get their own bus or buses? Where do they sleep? I've seen two show so far on this tour and you guys are really on your toes! Thanks for all the hard work!

Do you know why the Mojo Tour has now become the Same Set List and Short Play Time Tour? Is the guys okay, I have seen the same concert 3 times and about to see it for a 4th, it has to be boring for the guys to play the same thing every night. The band idols like Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Paul McCartney, and Ringo play different set list every night with total songs normally at 35. These people are a lot older than the guys but still make it a point to play different stuff for true fans. I am one of the largest fans where The Heartbreakers have helped me cope with life. Please someone talk to Tom - change the set list for the 3rd leg of the tour and show us the bands new sense of Mojo.

there was a cool piano and sax 50's R n B playing over the PA during the change of sets between CS&N and TP at Saratoga -- is there any way/any body to ask what the name of that song and who the artist was? Thanks!!
