pcpettyhead Member Posted June 21, 2010 04:44 AM Thank you EVERYBODY!! Here's the re-cap I sent in to tompetty.com. Included is the link for the 1st video. I also sent a bunch of pix Panama City MOJO Listening Party Results Reply keith eveland to mojolisteningp. show details 6:16 AM (18 minutes ago) The Panama City Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers MOJO CD Listening Party was a howling success!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXerrV7zrys With only a week to prepare, I got the word out as fast as I could. I emailed Brian Lane, the program director at WRBA ARROW 95.9 and asked if he would let me come to the radio station to promote the party and play some songs off the new MOJO cd. Brian said he would be glad to help. He and his DJs started advertising the party right away. I ordered a full sheet cake with the Heartbreakers logo and MOJO design on it. I called all my friends, most of whom had been rooting for me to win, knowing what a big Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers fan I am. I chose a place called the Star Bar, an open-aired but covered venue. Easy access in and out, palm trees, and a full bar. A real Florida kind of place. I decorated with posters from my collection, fliers that I made up and the MOJO posters tompetty.com sent me. Brian Lane and Larry Gordon, the head honcho at Panama City Radio Group, really helped me out. They were more than enthusiastic to help me spread the MOJO! They provided a pro sound system and invaluable advertising. Brian invited me down to the station on the day of the party to do a special segment on their daily Live Drive At Five show. The next thing I know, I'm talking live on the radio about the party and the new MOJO cd. We talked about Mike's new guitar and my Rickenbacker 660/12 Tom Petty Limited Edition. We also talked about shows and dates within our area and I let people know that the new MOJO cd was available today and the blu-ray and vinyl versions would be out on the 29th. We played four songs off MOJO. Brian wanted to play High in the Morning and I Should Have Known It. I asked him to play Don't Pull Me Over and to let I Should Have Known It run right into U.S. 41. It was absolutely the coolest to be responsible for getting all that MOJO on the air. The whole segment lasted about a half hour. I really have to thank Brian for helping me through it. He's a true pro! Then it was off to the party!! My friend Rene and his wife Angie were already there and other than me, they were the last to leave. I owe 'em one for that! Everyone arrived early as requested and we had a great kick-off. The MOJO was in the air! I had bought 40 drink tickets for my V.I.P guests. They were also treated to homemade Rock N' Roll cookies and everybody got a big piece of MOJO cake. The special at the bar was the MOJO MOJITO!! Sounds tasty but, I don't drink. It had to be good though because, people were knockin' 'em down left and right. Sixty-seven people signed the guest list and ten or more were there in spirit. We played MOJO in it's entirety on the ARROW 95.9's sound system and it sounded GREAT!! As the last song, Good Enough, was playing I started taking requests. That list filled up fast! I couldn't play them all because, that would have taken all night but, I played a dozen of them. Then I put MOJO back on and we did it again! After that I strapped on my guitar and made my live debut in front of such a large crowd. I did a mini-set of Don't Do Me Like That, Cabin Down Below, and Listen To Her Heart. I thanked my guests for coming and closed it all out with the Hard Promises cd. The official time of the party was 7 - 9:00pm but, we basically rocked that sucker from 6 - 11:00. With the radio segment, it was 5 1/2 hours of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers!! A great time was had by all and I really want to thank all my friends for coming and those who couldn't make it but, were there in spirit. I'd also like to thank the super-cool fans on the tompetty.com community message board for their support and kindness, especially gatorfrommn, who got my video noticed over there. Thank you to Brian Lane and Larry Gordon at ARROW 95.9 who helped put this thing over the top. Thanks to Tony and Judy, owners of the Granite Cafe and Star Bar. Thanks to my son Kyle and his friend Sean for capturing the video and Tammie for taking the pix. Thanks to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers for being the greatest band in the world and most of all, thanks to tompetty.com for accepting my proposal to host this fantastic party that I and my friends will never forget. Sincerely, Keith Eveland Panama City, Florida

I just want to thank Tom and the Guys for giving us "Die Hard fans" an opportunity to hear MoJo before the release. I went to Cleveland to the perfect venue. The sound system Rocked and Tom sounded GREAT! Matt Wilkening hosted the party along with his soon to be wife. I just feel fortunate to have been one of the fans that had the experience. Anyone who loves music, go to the Happy Dog, Cleveland OH.
