    Red Rocks 2nd Night
If night two at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado proved anything, it's that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers haven't lost a step over their illustrious career.

Nearly 30 years to the day since their 1980 Red Rocks debut, Tom and the band brought the rock to Red Rocks, digging deep into their catalog right off the bat with "Listen to Her Heart" off You're Gonna Get It!. "Free Fallin'" provided a nice opportunity for an audience sing-a-long before giving way to a killer cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well."

Once again, the Red Rocks faithful were treated to several songs off Mojo, the band's first album in almost eight years due out June 15. Tom and the boys debuted "Takin' My Time," while delivering stellar takes of "First Flash Of Freedom," "Running Man's Bible" and "I Should Have Known It," and "Good Enough."

"Runnin' Down a Dream" and "You Wreck Me" got the encore off to a sizzling start, but the "American Girl" finale was the perfect send-off to another sold-out night at one of the most beautiful and acoustically amazing venues in the world.

Prior to the Heartbreakers, Joe Cocker once again delivered a winning set that included a fantastic "You Can Keep Your Hat On" and culminated with an epic version of "With a Little Help from My Friends" that had the masses on their feet.

Great concert, best I've ever been to at Red Rocks!!! Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers still are at the top of their game. The stuff from Mojo really rocks live as well.

I have seen at least 20 shows at Red Rocks over the past 10 years and I have to say that this was one of the best. The weather was perfect & Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers rocked!! Best place in the world to see a concert, and I live only 10 minutes away! Until next time, Tom, until next time. --Christina

I hope I get to Red Rocks one day. What a place for a concert. Joe Cocker, I am so pleased you are coming to B.C. I hope you will come back and play again here anytime. Our kids need you to keep on too. Hope it's good travels to Vancouver and you find the crowd a pleaser. Thank you for coming to the rainforest. Maybe come hang here for awhile sometime. We are a musical town, and a cauldron of everypeoples. It's a world's eardrum. Looking forward to a sweepin' concert to break up my work week! Work hard and we'll be back. Good Cheer

Red Rocks - 6/1/ Sounded like the Allman Brothers Bluesy and light tapped Led Zep. Direction of Heavy Metal guitars. Mike Campbell is great and Tom Petty is so charming with his sexy eccentric outfits. Loved it. Just so everyone knows, Tom Petty has the same astrological line up Libra Sun and Aquarius Moon as John Lennon. Need I say more about this unusual coincidence. Genius anyway to spell it. Miss them already. Char

Sounds like a great show... these guys jam and don't just play the songs the way they were recorded... they extend them with great improving touches. I can see why folks want to hear The Waiting it is a great song and there are so many greats that TPATH would have to play all day to get through all them. This will be my 28th show when the band hits Oakland. I can't wait.

Mike Campbell was channeling the best of the electric blues last night.... a la Led Zeppelin, Cream, Vanilla Fudge... I've seen them all, and this band's performance stood tall with the best of them. This band just keeps getting better! The Mojo thrid of this show took me somewhere I hadn't been for years... dark and physical.... dangerous!

I have to say, I am so honored to have my photo posted here on the website. (I'm the chick in the "American Girl" tank top) Red Rocks is my 1st of 9 shows for the Mojo tour. I've seen almost 50 TPATH shows and every show sparks my lifeline!! I have paid my tithe to the Church of RocknRoll and my blessings cannot be put into dollar symbols....the blessings are priceless. TPATH's music is what keeps my soul alive and fuels my fire. Words cannot express my gratitude for what TPATH's music does for me. When life is kicking my ass, TPATH brings me back to life. I'm proud to be an "American Girl"! I'm thankful for finding my path in life by following such a talented and humble band. Thanks guys for rockin' my world tour after tour! Your music is the greatest inspiration and the greatest gift in my life. RocknRoll heaven is my sanctuary. I wish everyone had something/someone to make them feel as great as TPATH music makes me feel. Peace to the band, crew, and fans. Safe travels to us all! With sincere love, gratitude, and endless thanks.... Michelle

Can't wait to hear Tom and the boys in Indy on 7/10 and in Nashville on 8/12!! I've seen him 3 times the last time being in 2008. MOJO sounds like it's going to be another great CD!

Besides being the best band in the world, these guys always look good. Dressed to the nines. Check out that pinstripe Benmont's wearing. Sweet! Mike looks AWESOME (always has). And Tom in that long coat with a Teardrop VOX... will the real 5th Beatle please stand up! I appreciate a band who respects their audience and themselves. All those ripped t-shirt and jeans millionaires are so fake. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers not only bring the music, they bring the class!

This is probably my 7th time seeing TP and the HB, and as much as I LOVE Mike Campbell--really really I do--I felt like it was the Mike Campbell show. He was on the jumbo tron more than Tom by far, and the attention seemed more on him. I love the new music, loved the show so much, (as usual), loved the light show--totally AMAZING, loved the Red Rocks experience as always, just thought the attention wasn't even between them all.

It was absolutely hands down the best show I have ever seen. Tom and the Heartbreakers sound sooooo great!!! They still have the Gift of Entertaining that 's for sure. They played an awesome set. Life couldn't have been any better than with Joe Cocker starting the night!!! Kudos to all. I WILL BE SEEING THEM ON THIS TOUR AGAIN!

Thanks so much for sharing these photos and LOVE the handwritten set lists. I can't wait for Saturday night's show in Oakland, CA. My first Petty concert and I am going with my husband and 23 year old daughter. Keep American Girl in!

wish that were for Hollywood Bowl show. Instead we have to suffer through ZZ Top instead of Joe Cocker, as originally scheduled.
