I cannot wait for petty onSNL... This will surely be his and the heartbreakers last time on the show!! So stoked to see em tear it up live!! Haha I cant fuckin wait! Talk about the only magic left.. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers contain the only magic left in music!!! For their era!!! Everyone else is but a meer memory!! No one sounds that good after 34 years PERIOD
jimh's picture

I saw that TP is scheduled for May 15th SNL appearance. Wait the new cd has not been released, there is still time to cancel Tom. I'm not setting my TIVO yet!
brickman48's picture

Now I see... My Dallas date was postponed so TP can play on Saturday Night Live.
pcpettyhead's picture

Only 5 days left to the Tampa show.... oops, make that 135 days. I hope everybody got the word.
freefallinstu's picture

Hey why don't you two get a room better yet go to a show together! ENOUGH already
nick07's picture

So anyway, I hope you get to go see the show and hope things turn out for you. I'm done acting like a child.
nick07's picture

PCPETTYHEAD wishes he was god. and again KARMA IS WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND! I DID NOT RE SCHEDULE THESE SHOWS. Im sorry bad things are happening in your life, I did not cause them. Nor can I control what happens in your life. Or when Tom Petty re schedules a show! If you want to hold on to the negative parts of your life, thats your choice to be bitter! Not mine to make you bitter. Now you are personally attacking me. and Wishing horrible things upon me.. IM DONE WITH IT. YOU PERSONALLY ATTACKED ME. Be happy you are a pigment of imagination on a internet site. Talk about KARMA DUDE!!!!!??? Maybe you should look up the definition?
nick07's picture

I completely agree. I think the whole re-schedule happened because they did not like the way the tour was set out.. the dates and cities did not make sense the way they were to be carried out! I 100 percent agree and think the re schedules happened because whoever initially made the tour schedule messed up a little bit.. It makes perfect sense. and Theyre doing another Red Rocks show because they want to make people happy and why wouldnt you schedule a second show at one the best venues on the planet, that sells out everytime..... But i still dont think the band is heartless! They made a mistake which sucks but I know they still care about their fans!

Well, Nick, since you can't get off this page even though it has nothing to do with you, I'm gonna have to let YOU know what I meant by Instant Karma. I didn't want to come out and say it but, here it is: I HOPE YOUR SHOW GETS CANCELLED!! I hope you get four flat tires. I hope you get busted. I hope something happens to make you miss that show. I hope they refuse to let you in. Your little mind cannot perceive the weight of this situation. You seem to think it's just some rescheduling but, you have no clue about how people arranged their lives, invested, and looked forward to this. Here's one for ya, Nick. I was going to the Tampa show on May 09. Three days b/4 they pulled the switch-a-roo, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and given 2 to 6 months to live. I was absolutely devastated. All I had to look forward to was that concert in 3 weeks and then I was going to have to get on with the business of watching my dad die. Now the timing couldn't be worse. I will probably miss the show altogether and Tom Petty's music will always be a reminder to me of this difficult time. Nick, if you don't want to hear negative comments about Tom Petty, then don't come to this page. This is a place for those of us with broken hearts and broken dreams and all you're doing is making it worse. We got screwed. Plain and simple. And when you stick up for that... well, then you're on the wrong side. p.s. If you think you've got any more lessons for me...please keep them to yourself.
jimh's picture

So now they announce a 2nd Red Rock show due to overwhelming demand. Well what about the 200,000 people that created a demand for the canceled shows. I had tickets for May22nd at Hollywood Bowl. PLEASE TELL ME THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUNE 1ST AND MAY 22ND! In terms of marketing a release, how does this matter? This whole thing was a ruse because the band did'nt like the way the tour was schedule. Just admit it please! Don't do us like that.
nick07's picture

I'm glad you understand that I am correct and apparently have a large large effect on you, and your life.. If there are any more questions, let me know. I'd be happy to assist you in any way possible! Instant Karma, apparently I shall assist you on this subject as well. Karma is the result of an action or a lie. Not a fuckin' opinion. Me asking people to stop going off about the band was simply because myself and a whole lot of other folks dont want to join in on all the shit talkin, and think some folks should chill out.. Now, it worked on almost everybody! There's just one person that wont drop it.. That was a lesson. Get it grasshopper. Honestly, I will not reply to another Adult/Child comment argue.. After all you are twice my age.. right.
nick07's picture

you guys are comparing Tom and the Heartbreakers to bands like Dave Mathews and Bon Jovi! I would hope they would cancell! But then again Id never go see them... Anyway.. Petty is awesome! Yeah thats totally lame for the Louisville people.. That sucks! Id be major upset about that! But all of those other bands youre talking about.. They dont compare to Petty.. and again I hope you realize, Petty and the guys do not have to tour! They have enough money and surely more than Dave Mathews and Bon Jovi! Whom again. Id never spend a dime on..
pcpettyhead's picture

Obviously this is all about you. If someone lost $8,000 because of a rescheduled show that they can't make, then Nick says you shouldn't cuss and be negative. But, have you read Nick's comments? My, my, my, do you kiss your mother with that mouth, Nick? I guess no one should complain about being lied to about a late cd release being the reason for rescheduled shows either because, Nick is tired of all the whining and complaining, too. You see, after reaching the wise old age of 24, Nick pretty much knows everything now. His maturity far surpasses our own and he feels that he has the knowledge and wisdom to tell everybody else how to act. I don't know how we ever made it this far without Nick being there as the voice of reason. But don't worry, Nick will be back with some more pearls of wisdom because he knows... He who posts last, posts loudest. And by the way, it's pc not pcp. And double by the way Nick, Oh Wise One, cussing and complaining is how people start the healing process. It helps to get the poison out their system. So, quit ripping off the band aid just because you want to put your 2 cents in. Instant Karma's gonna get you, it's gonna knock you right in the face.
oldgravy's picture

Not finding a way to reschedule the Louisville date is not right. Offering a Cincinnati show that is mostly sold out of good seats is not acceptable. Somebody needs to fix this!!! PLEASE!!!
nick07's picture

I hope you never, fall in love with, somebody like you.
nick07's picture

Done with this topic! I told you.. Knowing that your obviously like 40 years or older.. Tells me maybe you've lost some of that spark, Tells me you should have more money than me. The way you talked was responsible, and respectable. Do you guys even grasp where Im coming from??? I simply was tired of people cussing up the band! Thats all, go ahead and be mad but dont cuss up the band! Its immature and childish! Thats all I was trying to say! But along with so many other people on this forum you took it too far...and Ive spent a shit load and a half of money on Tom Petty albums and Concerts! Probably more than you have or will ever spend! Thats because Im a hard working non nagging non complaining dude! I stir the pot because Im trying to sift all of the shit out of it, that disrespectful shit fans have put in it. I dont care whats going on in the world, I don't want all of the negativity. Especially on Tom Pettys site man! Theres enough to worry about in the world! All I wanted was to be able to come onto TomPetty.com and see happy folks and even if theyre not happy, I dont want to see someone cussing up the band and dogging there name a name that is much more stronger than a re-scheduled first leg.. I do feel bad for the folks that have lost doe and shit, Im not saying they are crude for speaking about their frusturations. They have a right.. I mean if this is such a horrible thing to happen in the music business than I have a right to cuss up every other band that has ever existed. TP&THB have been very very good to us!! and to me for 24 years! Thats more than I can say for some of my own family memebers! So I guess people need to realize who theyre talking about because it aint just some band! Its Tom Petty and the F'n Heartbreakers! and since I posted my comments, the others fans comments have gotten a million times better and improved a great deal and they are actually respectable comment/thoughts. So I believe I won and succeeded at what I was trying to succeed. Happiness. Seriously do a little more research. If you are an adult you would and will agree with me.. Those comments were so nasty and mean!! Now most folks are happy and have gotten over it, and I believe I eased the tension as well.. Im not saying dont be mad, Im saying atleast post a respectable rant. Haha Its like Parents that did nothing but cuss and scream at you. What do you think of them, fuck them, thats what you think.. I just wanted to think of most Petty fans as respectable people. I think after they ranted for a second they thought man that was a little overboard! Thats all I was trying to create, a sense of balance within the situation that has occured.. Im seriously not trying to get into bitching matches with anyone.. Petty rocks! Its over with.. Thats all I was trying to do... I love all of you guys/gals.. Now lets drop it and enjoy what we can while we're still here.. and I will enjoy my concerts to the fullest extent! and how old are we here really. Yeah if your concert was in May and now its in Sept. that sucks you have to wait. But holy shit you still get to see him, he didnt cancell. What is this? Are you mad because I get to see him b4 you?? We're all still seeing him either way! Seriously c'mon. Im talking about people like FREN CREEK. "You guys really blow" what the hell is that! The band can go "jump" first off I dont know where youre from but in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE that doesnt really make sense! Jump off or into what?? So this is on the smaller scale of the "hate" mail petty is receiving but.... Dudes.. Seriously.. Why dont you guys make a band, and tour for thirty years or more.. Why dont you guys fight your own record label on album prices and concert seat charges. Why dont you change the entire music industrys standard for album prices. and lyrical freedom. I think we falling off of the wagon a little bit and are forgetting the things this band has done for us! and maybe not even us! Im only 24! Maybe it was for all of you who were around in the 70's! Think of that! Im not even 25 and Im defending him more than anyone on this page! Its shamefull.

How about CANCELLED....hope all Louisville Ticket Holders will take refund and head to Churchill Downs for Hullabalou...I know Dave Matthews,Bon Jovi, & all the other 60 acts won't cancel and as for Louisville Tom, "Don't come around here no more"
coachrmit's picture

I am done reschedule all but Louisville.....you and the band and management...can go jump, as I hope all 20,000 who were going to the concert will do, you guys really blow...oh my my oh hell yes go blow that up your dress !!!
pcpettyhead's picture

Because we'll still be waiting.

I've been on this ride from the beginning. In fact, I was on this ride b/4 you were born. The fact is, Nick, you're going to a WA show and none of this affects you in the least. And yet, you continue to stir the pot. You didn't lose a dime and you got to jump ahead in line nine shows. So keep runnin' your mouth because you've caused a lot of the hard feelings that are floating around. A lot of people took a lot of losses and you didn't. This is about the tour rescheduling and you didn't get rescheduled. So go and enjoy your show and let us know how it was when you get back.

TP you've been my favorite artist since the late 70's I am dissapointed to find out that the Tulsa date is now cancelld ! My daughter started listening to your music when she was around me at the age of 5, you are also one of her favorites, I now have a 14yr. old grandson that loves classic rock & your music. We were planning to have 3 generations of Tom Petty fans at that date. Also keep up trying to get rid of the nicotine, It was harder for me to quit that than alcohol & drugs ! My last cig. was 1 day after I hit my 1 year anniversary without a drink, It's been 4 months since & the cravings have left me. { I had to Quit because of surgery for a broken neck}. You do it ONE DAY AT A TIME. I hope I can get tickets for houston date that would be a good 25th anniversary gift for my wife. Keep on Rockin. rikkid
nick07's picture

where have ya been for the last week and a half?? If you've been posting comments since the issue began like myself you would know... I completely understand being upset! and everybody having a right to be upset. BUT BE ADULT about it.. The things people were saying, were terrible and crude! You clearly have not been along for the entire ride! Do I get bothered when people talk complete bullshit about my "hero"? Sure bud Im assuming youre a guy though I have no idea..! If I'd call him my hero, He's what I wish people like you, were more like.. So that way when I signed on to tompetty.com tonight I wouldnt have seen your un-thought out comment.. The things people were saying.. They dont have a damn bit of respect within there bodys if they drag the band through the dirt just talkin shit because negativity circulates.. Then they go to the concerts! and Don't buy the album! It's a joke! and your tickets weren't even tampered with, your event date has not changed. So instead of trying to be the "popular" one here.. Instead of trying to be the "hero".. step your game up.. Maybe even look at past posts.. You may agree with my thought of very very harsh remarks sent by "fans" of the band! Re-schedules happen! PERIOD. Talk is cheap, it takes money to buy Whiskey. Simple words of loss, anger, and sadness due to the re-schedules are understandable.. But it is not I that needs to take this matter into mature depths! Haha I can smoke a joint and come up with a better line everytime.. P.S. Im over this topic of conversation..

TP I was so disapointed when your Bay Area date was set in June when I was scheduled to be out of the state. But then you announced your show at the Red Rock and I am now stoked. I'll see you there, hopefully in the 2nd row like last time. Forever in love with your music. Walnut Creek, CA Fan.

Totally bummed! My girls are flying to Dallas from Cleveland and San Diego to see Tom Petty in May for my bachlorette party and now we're stuck in Dallas for the weekend with no Tom Petty! Hopefully I can catch him at Bloosom in Cleveland later in the summer but it won't be the same.

To Be MEEEE!!!!! That song just seems to go with all this tour rescheduling mayhem. We all have a story how this is affecting us. In the end we still LOVE you TP, just talk to us please!!!!

Having been born in the late 80s i was to little to understand but still dance to your music as i grew up my father brought me up on your music including the Traveling Wilburys. I just wished you would have a tour in the Uk for your British fans. All the best, keep up the outstanding creative work ill still keep following you.

I had mixed emotions about the reschedule of the Irvine show. It was moved from a weeknight to a weekend, but it meant waiting longer to see the show. But now that I heard that they'll be playing Red Rocks on the original date, I'm disappointed in Tom & the guys. Please don't tell us a lame story that the re-schedule was due to the late release of Mojo and just days later announce another (better?) gig for the same date. Don't the fans deserve the truth?
tom4ever's picture

I am thinking about selling the tickets for June 5. I think of boycoting this show AND no longer buying another ticket.
dabjab06's picture

Why has Tom not posted a apology or something on the news section? I feel like all we got was a promotional bit about the album coming out on the 15th of June and then it is like oh and by the way we regret any problems this might cause. I have loved this band all my life since I can remember and will still be attending the postponed concert but come on now, you knew this was going to cause issues with people and affect each situation differently. I think if he would do that it would calm some people down. I mean yea I am spending a little more money due to hotel costs and such - but with my front row tickets? Am I going to see them in Sept. Hell Yea (do feel the concert should be longer for the reschedules - no need to get joe cocker or anyone to open unless..... Tom if you read these comments your Wilbury buddy Bob will be done with his europe tour!!! :) Just something to think about.
