You're lucky you just have a $100 hotel bill to lose! We are travelling from England to California and booked a 2 day trip to Tampa just to attend the concert. That was nearly $1000! It is not worth travelling all that way for nothing so money will be lost. We then have to rebook for September (another $2500)when we have no guarentees it will go ahead then. unfortunately insurance doesn't pay out for unfinished albums!!

Be thankful you get to go to a Tom Petty concert. And it's only money people. Damn. Just go have a good time and quit bitching and moaning. This band is very special to all of us. True fans understand and don't question anything!! At least they did not cancel!! That's what you really should be upset for!! TOM YOU WILL FOREVER BE MY HERO NO MATTER WHAT!!!!! Tom if you read this add Little Rock AR 'cause i don't think you've ever done a show in Arkansas or add Memphis TN so you can get a new Gibson guitar across the street!!

Im too tired tonight, and will write more of what Im thinking tomorrow! But, a lot of you should be ashamed of yourselves for saying the B.S. your saying about the band we all love so much!! Youre giving this band no credit for an unexpected thing! Whatever caused this, happened, period. Crap happens deal with it! I do feel bad for the people who now cant go and the folks who allready paid for hotel/flight, but c'mon we're lucky they still tour!! and I love this band, theyve never wronged me once before! and are still the cheapest headliner of their calliber in the world!!!!! Roger Waters the Wall 130$ meteocre seats! Tom Petty 100$ Great seats! Eagles 150$ bad seats! Tom Petty 60$ Bad seats/General Admission haha do you get my point. This wasnt planned, and it sucks! But you surely cant truly think that he just doesnt give a crap.. Lets just be happy for all the good times and good things hes done for us in the past and will continue to do in the future! Because after all the good outweighs the bad by maybe ohhh 3,000% ;) so smile, try to be happy! and to TP&THB I love ya guys! I'll be at The Gorge 11th Row with the Non FAIR-WEATHER FANS.. Im from Portland, Or. Big fan of the Portland Trail Blazers! You can never be a fair weather fan livin here ;)

I do feel for the folks that have lost money in the situation due to: Airfare(that is easily changeable to another date! but S.O.L. if you cant make the re-scheduled show) same type of deal with Hotels!!! Dont act like you just lost your savings account! Lets look at the facts and stop Being IGNORANT! Tom Petty and The Awesome Heartbreakers have been giving us much more than entertainment for over 34 years!!!! 34 YEARS!!! and how many times have they wronged us??? NEVER! Would they ever intentionally re-schedule a greatly anticipated Tour. NO! Obviously something out of the ordinary occured, something unnexpected. Which does cause somewhat of an inconvenience! and What was with all of you "fans" compaining and bitching up a storm about the prices!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! Tom Petty is still among thee very cheapest act to go see at his caliber/age! You know it! So instead of singin ol poor me. Realize shit happens this would be called shit!!! There are much worse things! I do feel for the folks that cannot go to see the show and have lost money that is very unfortunate and I would be very upset but I wouldnt be dogging the guys we love so much! Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers! That like getting ready for a road trip, the day of your buddys van breaks down and you have to re-schedule. Are you going to write your buddy off?? Im amazed at the way people are talking about them! Please stop, go watch a cover band for 10 bux a head and drink your happy hour coors light! I will be spending my "hard earned" money.. Isnt all money hard earned even if you fuckin steal it! haha All Im saying is please, grow up! Remember how things were in the 70's when everything was great. Shit me and ol Jimmie Dean saw Tom Petty in 79 for 8 bux a pop! Things have changed, unfortunately for the worst! But this is something us free people still have! Music! and a pioneer of what any band should want to be! No more hating! nobody wants to hear it! Take it on the arches! And more importantly, save the drama! FOR YO MOMMA.

I want my money back anyway!

why dont you people get a life? if you are true Petty fans you would understand.he is a great guy and truly loves his fans. i could see you get upset if they did not honor the tickets but they will. and most airlines give you up to a year to use your tickets.
ltpickler's picture

what a bunch of complaining, bellyaching whiners !!! Get your money back if this doesn't suit you. Sorry about those of you with hotel rooms and airplane tickets - hard to belive you can't reschedule and apply your money to the future dates - bummer too about those of you that can't get the time off of work But the majority of people here are just inconvienenced because it's a change. I'm somewhat disappointed that I have to wait until October rather than June, but as long as the tour is still on, I'm happy.
tanya_bradham's picture

On top of all of the changes, has ANYONE been able to use the $25 from the MOJO package or the 5 songs to download, etc? I know I haven't been able to! tompetty.com says ticket masters takes care of it and ticketmaster says tompetty.com takes care of it! WHAT"S UP??? Also, I can't seem to get all the benefits from the Highway Companion's membership either. Why are you making it so hard?? We paid dearly for it!!!

Dear Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, I am 19 years old and the heartbreakers have been my one and only favorite band my whole life. This summer myself and two of my best friends made plans to take a roadtrip and follow the band across the country from our home town of Lindenhurst, IL. We purchased tickets to attend the Irvine, CA, San Diego, CA, Seattle, WA, St Paul, MN, and Milwaukee, WI shows. Personally i have put literally all of my time, money and effort towards this trip. I even got a heartbreakers logo and lyrics tattooed on my body! ...now i almost wish i hadnt. This is against everything i thought the Heartbreakers stood for, i mean what the hell, after this The Last DJ is just an album full of lies. I reserved two and a half weeks of my summer for this since the tour has been announced. I made arrangements for work months ago. Tom Petty wasnt just my favorite artist, he was my hero and the person i most respected and strived to be like. Now im confused and extremely let down. How many other honest people simply trying to put thier time and money towards supporting this band have been screwed over like this?? What do i do now? Honestly, i have no idea... i go to school so i cant just go see those California concerts in October now!! Its just simply unacceptable. The only thing to do is change the dates back. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THIS TOM!!! :( sincerely, a very poor, let down, broken-hearted, heartbreaker fan

Heartbreakers & Wallet takers...Should be the name of new album...STILL NO WORD ON LOUISVILLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pinstrps's picture

Dude this just flat out sucks ass! Come on Tom...does this make any sense to you? Do you really expect the fans to believe this? I'll be going to the much later date but it will be a much bigger pain in the ass now!
toverstreet62's picture

Dam There goes the last D J . I cannot Believe that Tom has sold out! Never been so disappointed in you ever thing you ever stood for Is gone. Cant you even make it the same night. You really let your fans down. Maybe you can be a politican now you have the selling out part down! Terry

Tom, I'm not sure what kind of people you've surrounded yourself with these days, but I remember the good old days when you wrote angry songs about DJs having their playlists controlled by the Suits. Now the Suits are controlling you and shafting your fans. I've flown twice from the UK to see you in concert, but after the shit released on the Superhighway Tour download, I decided not to bother to visit the US again for this tour. I was shocked to read the faceless press excuse about a delayed album resulting in reschedled concert dates. You've inconvenienced thousands of your US fans. And cost your most loyal international fans thousands and thousands of dollars. I, for one, will be boycotting your Mojo album, and I'll be celebrating your fans' class action lawsuits against you, the band, Warner Brothers, and Ticketmaster. So long, Tom.

Tom I'm wishing you and the band the Best. I'm hoping all is well with all of you. Please stay safe. You can always know that there are fans who will stand by you. Looking forward to seeing you this summer. God Bless! BTW, You ROCK!

Haha, the headline says "Special" Tour Announcement. More like "Screw You Over Tour Announcement." C'mon Tom, first the tickets are $130 a pop (more than Eric Clapton and pretty much every other summer tour.) I thought you were an advocate for low ticket prices? Now you're going to totally alter this tour... and by way of a poorly put together press announcement that you probably haven't even read? At least give us the truth because I, for one, don't buy it. You built a foundation upon truth and courage (I Won't Back Down and Last DJ to name a couple.) You've inspired me to stand for what is right and you know this isn't right. I never thought I'd see the day Tom becomes a hypocrite and I pray this isn't the case. I love you Tom, and you'll always be my favorite, but there's something in the air, and you need to clear it.
misskristen85's picture

Why would you do this to me Tom? Not cool man, not cool at all..I was having issues here waiting the month and a half until the Irvine show... now its gonna be five and half months.. I am oh so sad. Im of course still attending, but I died a little bit on the inside when i got the news :(

It was all so perfect. My favorite band of all time was coming to Dallas in May-when the spring air is pleasant and comfortable. And they were coming on a Saturday night-when no worries of work the next day would interfere with the ability to fully sit back and enjoy. Now, I hear, they're still coming but in September-when the summer air in Texas is hot and stale. And now they are coming on a Tuesday-when the worries about having to deal with getting home to bed so that I'll be able to be rested for the nasty middle of the week workday that is called humpday. It was all so perfect-my bubble has burst.
pcpettyhead's picture

You're an insensitive idiot!! How in the world does this give people more time to get better tickets? It doesn't you dumb-ass. This move has COST A LOT OF PEOPLE A LOT OF MONEY!!!! Tom Petty is a bona fide ROCK GOD but, now people are losing their faith. All I ever do is tell people how great Tom is but, now I have to tell them about this. This is a major rescheduling problem for me but, I have a friend who's never seen Tom live and this cost her big money that she can't get back and now she's been lied to. We've all been lied to and that is a big deal. So whoever you are - OMG you!!
amartindale's picture

I totally agree that it doesn't matter if the tour starts a month before the release date. Please tell us the truth. We are die hard fans out here and we smell a rat.
franjan7's picture

I'm okay with the show moving to another date, even though it's a Sunday instead of a Friday, but who's gonna pay for my hotel that i have to cancel? That really stinks! Ticketmaster won't pay! The hotel won't pay! I guess I just have to eat $100 so Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers can finish their in studio album.
tomilou49's picture

I was so bummed out to find out that the concert was cancelled. Because the album is delayed? Give me a break!! True Tom Petty fans would buy Mojo anyway and could care less if Tom only sang "Mary Had a Little Lamb"! We just want to see the band in concert again. This is the bummer of the summer.
cofey's picture

I bought the Mojo package for the Saratoga show because I was able to get second row, and I figured the last show of the whole tour was worth spending the money on. If I had known there would be more shows to follow I might have held off on spending all that money. But I guess I can't really complain, my show wasn't moved at all.
ringo64's picture

Tom you have been my idol for over half my life now and been always the guy to tell the truth, stand up for whats right and overall hell the Last DJ! I find this heartbreaking that either A. You aren't telling the truth, B. Your allowing horrible money marketing something I thought I would never see from you (hell you made a record album on this), C. Giving the shaft to thousands of fans. Unless its health issues with you or the Heartbreakers in all honesty there is no reason to delay the tour! I've heard Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, etc... all play new songs from their albums before they were released on tour!!! I just find this odd that 2 years ago when I saw you last I payed $90 for floor seats and I'm payings $111 now for 2nd level as well! Please listen to your fans and tell us the real reason because frankly the album is just hurting your image!
pcpettyhead's picture

Is this legal? I would think that it would be illegal for somebody to do this to so many people without a damn good excuse and a pushed back CD release is NOT a good excuse. Everyone who has access to this site and was affected by this should write in and tell their story. Maybe we should all get together and go see a lawyer instead of a concert. I have been a die-hard TPAHs fan since I was a teenager (I'm 46 now). I have spent well over $25,000 on this band over the years and it's been worth every penny. So, after all this loyalty, this is what I get? The truth would be nice. C'mon Tom, make this right!!
joanieblon's picture

who bought the concert tickets, plane tickets, and paid up front for hotel rooms ~ only to find that the date they planned on has now changed. I feel especially bad for all of them who were coming at HUGE expense from Europe and Australia. What a bummer...... I live in downtown Tampa, and the change of dates from May to September really doesn't affect me, except I was pretty psyched up thinking that we'd be seeing Tom & the Heartbreakers in just a couple of weeks. I truly don't understand the alleged tour schedule change just because of a delayed release date for the CD. Whomever made the decision to push forward with this change has caused loads of grief for fans and many of those fans may not be very forgiving. If there's another reason, it would be a good idea to fess up.
iteachushistory's picture

Very disappointed. Had a perfect weekend all lined up for the Dallas concert. Already bought plane tickets...but I can get them transferred to September. Still love you Petty, but this hurts.
cherglbg's picture

I am deeply saddened and disappointed that the concert date was changed just because the album won't be out for another month. I would understand if someone was ill, (g-d forbid) or for any other good reason, but this is not fair at all. You guys know we will all buy your album anyway or anytime it is released, but we are your fans and it's like you didn't take our feelings into consideration. This was going to kick off our summer, under the stars in the Hollywood Bowl, and now..... Not fair at all.
