Look, he could have completely canceled them! Tom is STILL going to have the tour for us. & For me just to see Tom Petty & THB either all the way in the back of the lawn or in front row is a HUGE HUGE honor! The man is a GENIUS! He probably had no decision on this. I mean they were going to take ALL of his songs away in the 70's & he barley got away with it! Im sure it wasnt like " ok lets rip hundreds of thousands of fans off & screw what they think"! NO! THATS NOT TOM PETTY or The HEARTBREAKERS WAY! My point is JUST BE GLAD HE'S GOING TO DO THE SHOWS AT ALL! Plus this gives people WAY more time like my parents said to get BETTER TICKETS! Now I dont have to sit in a lawn & look at an ant playing! Im Even more excited! GOD BLESS TOM PETTY & THB!!!!!!

I'm not a whiner however very disappointed that they would take a Saturday night show and change it to a Friday night 5 months LATER!. An airline ticket, hotel was booked and bus tickets were purchased as well. This IS an inconvenience for sure. In any event I have lost $$$. It wasn't suppose to be that way!!!

So I have tickets for the Dallas show which WAS supposed to be on a Saturday May 15 now is "Rescheduled" for Sept 21 which is a Tuesday and I was coming from out of state to check it out and my job isnt easy to get off work. So many thanks for the pain in the ass.

I spent hundreds of hard earned, hard saved dollars, to get prepaid non-changeable/non-refundable rooms and transportation to go to a spring Saturday night concert in Dallas! I don't live in that state, and this was a big deal! The concert is now resceduled to a Tuesday in humid September at an outdoor venue! Are you kidding me?????????? I really thought Tom was a REAL stand up guy, but now I'm wondering WTF!!!! It's BS about the release of the CD!!! QUIT JAMMIN' ME and AT LEAST tell us the REAL truth!!! We are intelligent people and we know when we are being lied to!!!!! Tom you are killing your MOJO!!!!! Don't forget Pre-sale A and B!! I don't know if I can go now, but I even turned down a good job because of the timing of this concert! That's how bad I wanted to see Tom! Tom, have you "gone to the other side"???? I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!
joeflo24's picture

Tom, I'm from Milwaukee, so this did not affect me. But I can imagine how dissapointed I would be if the Concert was changed from summer time to fall, that would suck.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE

I saw Tom on August 10, 2002, two full months b/4 The Last DJ was released. He did four songs off the album and everyone there thought that it was absolutely fantastic. It was indeed a big honor to get to hear those songs b/4 they were released. I guess no one will get that honor this time. I'm going to the Tampa and Atlanta shows and I liked the 3 month separation between them and that Joe Cocker was playing Tampa and CSN is playing Atlanta. Now it's only a one month separation and there's no telling who will open. The first 3 or 4 shows were scheduled b/4 the CD release anyway so, what's the real reason? Thousands of people will lose thousands of dollars and I've got to believe Tom cares about that. Tom, if your reading this, then you know that your true fans love you to death and they know how you ALWAYS stand up for what's right. Please don't let us down and come off with a lame excuse about a late CD release. Tell us the truth and we will understand. If this is the way it's gonna be then, everyone who doesn't get a refund should get bumped up to the seats of the people that do. And I mean EVERYONE. They will have bought their tickets well in advance and should be in front of people who buy the extra seats that will become available.

NO PROFFESIONAL AT ALL. I LOOSE A LOT OF MONEY & TIME. IT'S NOT EASY GO TO USA FROM EUROPE, YOU FUCK ME OFF. THIS IS THE WORST ORGANIZATION I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.

Yesterday afternoon I logged on to www.ticketmaster.com looking for a seat to the May 7th Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ concert, the first one of the 2010 summer tour. Hoping to land a single up close, a stray ticket in the middle of deuces and foursomes, I pressed enter and luckily no Mojo packages were available. A ticket in Row WW, way to far back for a die hard fan like me, popped up. Not meant to be. Bummer, I thought. Later, listening to the Eagle, KHPT 106.9 in Houston, hoping to hear the traffic report, as I weaved my way home, the disc jockey said, “Stay tuned, we have breaking news on the Tom Petty concert tour.” I think ‘oh no, I hope the guys are ok.’ At the book launch for the Traveling Wilburys just a few weeks ago, Tom was pictured with a cane. Could those 59.5 year old knees carry him through the summer? When I reached home, I turned on my computer and logged on to www.tompetty.com. Blaring in front of me was a poorly crafted press release stating that since the album launch is now going to be June 15th, ten concert dates have been rescheduled. I thought, ‘When do copyright rights kick in, before or after publishing?’ I’m not a lawyer, so I don’t know. Thank heavens love for this band runs deep inside their fans’ veins for this communication must have been blessed by attorneys for it says almost nothing. I get pissed off just reading it. It doesn’t tell the real story. And when has Tom refrained from telling the real story? What is the real story? I ask myself. Here are potential scenarios I came up with. Keep in mind that I have no idea how the music business works: A) Tom’s knees need a bit longer to heal. B) Copyright issues don’t kick in until work has been published, June 15th in this circumstance. C) The band was so excited about this tour that they have acted like little kids setting it up, planning before thinking, adding no time buffer for potential obstacles/set backs. D) Tom and Mike are still painstakingly still mixing the tracks, trying to create perfection. E) Executives moved the launch of the CD to a week with less competition, so it could climb up the charts, setting records. F) The marketing folks are just getting to the plan to launch this CD, pissing off the band, pissing off the fans, generating more bad karma (let’s not bring up presale A and B) G) Mojo is lacking mojo. H) Mojo is turning into a mofo. Whatever the reasons are, for there is bound to be more than one, why are they communicating so poorly? Why not tell the fans, not the whole story, but a good story. One that will lead us to say, “Hey I get it. Even though this is costing me hundreds of dollars, the band is trying to stay true to the music.” After all, isn’t it about the music, generating something meaningful, something that will fill our souls with warmth, make our hearts jump like they were still 17 years old? Come on, tell us the real reason. Or will that get you in trouble with the lawyers, the record company?

Will the Louisville show be Rescheduled?

Hard to take all this bad news. Long time Petty fan but this tour/album is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. First he comes out with this MOJO package at $300 a seat. The "Golden Circle" tickets that not long ago he was ripping other artist for charging more for the upfront seating. Now this delay in the album and last minute rescheduled tour dates...not the Petty I know and love!

we are a family of four from england who bought tickets for the phoenix concert and £2000 worth of flights which are not transferable.we are devastated.WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

Thank you for ruining me and my friends long awaited U.S trip. We were coming all the way from Norway to go to the concerts at Hollywood Bowl and Phoenix. Since you don´t sell tickets online to europeans we had to buy VERY expensive tickets at a reseller online. And we have also prepaid plane-tickets and hotels. So we are now talking about about 8000$ ( just the VIP tickets to the shows were 4000$) lost. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
rawkin4petty's picture

I've been a Tom Petty fan for over twenty years. I finally decided to get to my first concert. So, $45 to join the fan club ( to get the "presale" tickets ) plus $300 for two tickets plus $150 hotel reservations plus lining up child care, I was all ready to join you for a great evening on Thursday,May 7,2010. Then I get the news that you are rescheduling so that you can add more venues and wait on the Mojo release?? That is inexcusable to me. Your music meant the beginning of summer to me and my family, but now your music will mean disappointment to us. You lost fans here over this decision, buddy!!

I'M FROM SPAIN (EUROPE) AND I'M REALLY DISSAPOINTED, GOT MY NON-REFUNDABLE HOTELS & AIRLINE TICKETS. WHO'S GONNA PAY ME FOR THAT? AND WHAT ABOUT MY FEELINGS? THIS CRACK ME OUT. TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE FANS, UNPROFESSIONAL & INSENSIBLE. DEFINITIVELY I'M LOOSING MY DEVOTION TO TOM PETTY. IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at the way the touring cities go it has a more laid out pattern than before. They will start in Northern CA, go to Washington, Canada, the Midwest, Around the great lakes, through New England, down the east coast, across to Texas, then back to lower CAL. One huge circle and the tour stops conveniently near where they live. Anyone else see this connection? My Second thought is where Joe is now disappearing for a couple of months then comes back to finish the tour, maybe he can not take the heat or the pressure for an extended time. (Makes him twitch more)

I agree with most of the disdain in regard to this postponement. Charlotte was a Friday concert. I would not have to work the next day and could party all night while listening to a great performer and musician. The reschedule date is a Sunday night. I work the next day. Now, do I waste a precious vacation day or just leave early to beat traffic? It might seem like a small inconvenience. But, it is one nonetheless. I love Tom Petty's music- but the Friday date convinced me 100% to attend. Sunday night--I would go but would not have joined the club to get early ticks and bought VIP ticks. disappointing!

I remember going to a show in 2006 at least a month before the Highway Companion album was released. Doesn't quite make sense. And since he isn't coming to Denver this year I decided to venture out West to see him.. Already have my flight and hotel booked for Hollywood... Not sure what to do about all of that now...
mikey's picture

I've spent £2000 on flights from the UK, tickets, car & accommodation for the weekend in St. Pete. My wife, daughter and I have been so excited. There are enough songs for the concert to go ahead, right? If the delay is because record sales of Mojo may be affected this goes against all that I thought Tom and the guys stood for. I am so disappointed and a dream is sadly shattered.
dabjab06's picture

Tom, there has to be a true reason why this is happening. We as fans stick by you but a truthful musician sticks by his fans. Why not push the release date of Mojo, play a couple of new songs at the concert venues and gain some interest. I hope you plan to sing and play longer for the dates that got changed. Bad thing of all is there is no personal message from you anywhere just some prewritten stuff that ticketmaster and tompetty.com typed up. Come on man change these dates back!
dabjab06's picture

All this mess just because of a delay in releasing a record. Tom what is the True reason for this please. Concert was only 3 weeks away and now I get to wait 4 more months. Still going to go but I think we deserve the real reason and those whose dates are changed hope you plan to sing and play additional time at the show to say your sorry. The Cd coming out is cool, but you are the important message. Why not push the Mojo date back or be fair and move all the concert dates back
dear_desiree's picture

I'm ok with the Tampa date being changed. It was scheduled ON Mother's Day. That was kinda inconvenient for me, since my kids are all grown up now and they actually spend time, effort and money on me that day. However, I really hate it for the people that had travel plans with airfare and all.
jchab032010's picture

with the rescheduled concert dates. Plans were made in anticipation of a great highlight of activities to top off a reunion with my son (flying him in from Florida for the Irvine show) and all for naught because of a delayed album release date? Extremely disappointed with the announcement and wonder if anyone thought of the logistics associated with the fan base when the decision was made.

SO glad to see more concerts added, TP and the Heart Breakers are the BEST; been going to his since 1986... and LOVE that he keeps Politics OUT of his SHOWS....Way to go Petty....Can't wait to see his show this YEAR. Petty and The HeartBreakers ROCK Best Rock n Roll Band EVER....

Tom, I don't have a lot of good fun in my life right now and was looking forward to seeing you and the boys in May. I just finished crying and trying to regroup myself. I hope you will do us a big favor and GET SOMEBODY KICK ASS TO OPEN YOUR HOLLYWOOD SHOW AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE AT LEAST 3-4 ENCORES. That would totally make me feel better and the long ass six month wait--extra wait. Like you have said:"THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART"

I have SECOND ROW, dead center tix for the Louisville, KY show May 12th and now it isn't going to happen??? That sucks. And there is no nice way to even say that. :( Booooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
sberg's picture

And the even better news for most of you commenting is that since the tickets are paperless and you cannot go you also cannot sell them. Oh the irony of this wonderful system TM put in place
coachrmit's picture

We can all go on and on about how we all love TP and the band, but this is not explainable....CD Release(BULL)...something is going on...rehab or we don't know what, but somebody has made some nice interest on all the money in the bank so far...really disappointing and bush league and lame from a band I have always considered to be a class act...Shame on you Reprise Records,TP Mgmt, and TP and the Band !!!!!

A big disappointment! Original plans were perfect. Album release or no album release, I would have been there. Now, second thoughts. Seriously thinking about cancelling. You said it yourself, "dont do me like that..."
