What a bunch of selfish, greedy idiots. No concern at all for those of us who have invested in nonrefundable hotels, flights, etc. They obviously don't care about losing fans. We're through forever with Tom Petty! No wonder his band is the Heartbreakers, now they can be the bank breakers as well. Just screwed over their fans for nothing but greed and stupidity. And they've known about this for awhile and didn't tell us. You don't just reschedule these concerts in a few minutes. And you don't just find out that your album is going to be late. Another band that is shallow and willing to screw over their fans. How disappointing.

Are there other issues going on or is it really because the new album release is delayed?? Who cares when the thing is realeased. We want to see TP in concert as scheduled and will buy the CD no matter when it's realeased. Tom's fans know his talent and music. We buy all of his music whether there is a tour or not. Tom's fans are mostly loyal baby boomers. There won't be a lot of new fans crawling out of the woodwork and now wanting to by his music. Be as loyal to your fans TPHB as we are to you. Poor decistion!!!

Yes, my heart did sink when I got the news. I hope all is ok with the band. In my heart I know all things happen for a reason...but I am very sorry for all the people who can't go now and have lost alot of money. I will wait for you guys!!!

Agreed. Non-refundable hotel, airline reservations, wife's birthday present, all down the drain because these greedy idiots don't have their act together and can't figure out that linking the tour to the album is total bs anyway. Obviously they only care about making more money and don't care one damn bit about their fans who get screwed because of their greed. What total f***king bs.

Wow, this really sucks! Had a hard time getting off of work for this concert(San diego is a 4 hour drive from Bakersfield!) But i still wouldnt miss him for the world! Cmon guys, we are lucky they still tour!Shit happens! Hey Tom! Consider coming back to Bakersfield sometime! We would LOVE IT!

Way to go Tom - travel plans, hotels, airline tickets out the window. Thanks a whole lot for giving the people who put you where you are the shaft. We really appreciate it....

I have 18th row tickets for Dallas. My cousin and I were planning on driving 12 hours from Minnesota to Oklahoma to pick up my best friend and her husband so we can all see TPATH together, then another 3 hours to Dallas because that's the closest show to her place. All completely worth it so we can see Tom together, as we always do. But now, my cousin will be back in school and probably won't be able to go and no one will be able to watch my friends' kids overnight since it's now on a Tuesday. We have no idea what we're going to do and we're just devastated. No one cares that the album won't be out yet. If it's anything like the Highway Companion tour, they're only gonna do one track off the new album and it'll probably be one of the two tracks that have already been released to us anyway. I don't blame Tom, I blame the management. What are they thinking? They're going to lose so much money from people getting refunds, they should have just left the tour the way it was whether the album was ready or not.
brickman48's picture

I too had tickets to the Dallas show on May 15th. My wife and I are both public school teachers, so May 15th was perfect. Now it gets rescheduled for a TUESDAY! We can't go to that. After spending $45 bucks on the fan club and $300+ for 2 tickets, we won't be able to go. I don't understand why the tour can't start as scheduled. This is so uncharacteristically unprofessional from a group that seemed to know what they were doing for 30+ years now. Thanks a lot guys for getting my hopes up!

This is just sinking in now, coming from Australia for this 22May Hollywood Bowl Show, this back flip will cost me thousands of dollars, for nothing. I can not go in Oct. Airfairs not refundable, Hotels prepaid no refund, I'm in deep hole money wise, and not feeling the Love TP, endless emails from you guys, "join the club"," buy presale tickets", I the fan said "Yes" to these offers, but now Tp Says "NO No". my travel money is gone, this hurts I don't hav heaps of money. Paul :(
chemma137's picture

I'm a little confused. If we already purchased tickets for one of the previous shows that has been rescheduled, do we still have those tickets we previously purchased? Someone help me out here, please!

No rescheduled date for Louisville? Please don't cancel!
rcpaulin's picture

Here's another nice swift kick in the ass. From (most evil music industry player INW) Ticketmaster: "Please note, the $4.05 per order processing fee, any ticketFast, or UPS delivery charges and in-store pick up charges are non-refundable."
edadams80's picture

Tom is entitled to make as much money as the market will bear. However, this is not the same man that stood up to MCA over album prices. It was unnecessary to change the schedule. The release date of the CD should not have an impact. The previous posts clearly demonstrate the hardship that this action has caused. I mean, it's not like Howie just got hurt in a boating accident (yes, I understood, even if it was two days before the show). Of course, I will still go to the show. Tom knows that. I'm looking forward to my 16th TPATH event, but I am very disappointed in Tom. He could have put a stop to this injustice. It would have been the right thing to do.
ashe013's picture

I am completely bummed out. It's been a stressful few months & I was completely looking forward to seeing him in LOUISVILLE in a few weeks. Granted, we'll deal- it just woulda been nice to have soon- we all need to mellow out a little. :) I know there is good reason behind all this crazyness. Tom wouldn't do this to me otherwise.
bigdavebrown's picture

Tom et al, please (1) rethink this plan, (2) reschedule on same night of week as original show, or (3) help affected fans book tickets in other cities. It's a reasonable request, since the cancellations are business decisions tied to promotion of MOJO. Thanks from Charlotte.
jim_in_las_vegas's picture

Between plane concert and plane tickets, your cancellation has cost me enough money that in the future, I'll just avoid Tom Petty as an artist to see. Yea, ticketmaster says they will refund the money, however it may take up to 70 days because the card I used is no longer valid due to fraud. And, I can use the plane tickets within a year. So, I'll just wait and spend the money I wanted to see your show with on some other artist who doesn't reschedule tours because a CD is late. So professional.
stephpivec's picture

Dallas was rescheduled and I went from 4 5th row vip pkgs to not being able to go. So bummed. Been going to all of the shows since the early 80s. My number one artist. Number one fan. Me and my peeps will be crushed. I dont spend money on myself and was willing to pay for TP$H. Tears so many tears.

I love this band, but you inconvenience the fans because you can't get the album out on time? This is the typical result of commercial interests vs. fan interests...fans lose, but on this topic I would have thought Tom was A-typical...
timhonan's picture

Personally I am stoked that Oakland is now opening night. I am sorry this impacts some people, but I am sure the band and tour planning people are not try to f--k people on purpose. There are probably more reasons than 'just' the album launch and we should give the band the benefit of the doubt. They all work very hard to bring a great show and a great album to the world. Sometimes a baby comes early. Sometimes a baby comes late. It is always messy, but we love it in the end.

Like so many others, I simply cannot make the rescheduled show. The Charlotte show is rescheduled for a Sunday night. I have a JOB on Monday. I can't go to the Raleigh show on Saturday because I have step-kids that weekend. What a complete disappointment. I truly do not understand why the dates have to be rescheduled until after the CD comes out. I have been to lots of other concerts for artists with a CD pending release. I LOVE TP and the Heartbreakers and have seen them more times than I can count. I will certainly see them again in the future (hopefully), but this is tremendously disappointing, especially since I was looking forward to taking my fiance who's never had the chance to see him. C'mon, Tom!

I hope you wasted hours trying to get tickets, and your venue gets changed to a Tuesday morning at 9AM, outdoors in December, when it rains or snows. It is a big deal, and totally f**ked. I had a Knopfler tour cancelled when he almost died in a motorcycle accident, but not because of some stupid change in an album release date for an album that is already in the can. I can't believe it, but I am actually thinking about returining the tickets and not going. What an @ss.

Please tell me why they would release a tour schedule promoting a new CD and not know when the damn CD is going to be done? For those that say if you're a die-hard fan, you'll go anyway...did you ever think that some of us planned around Tom in a different venue and city then we have prior? Being that I've seen Petty 6 times at all different venues across America, this pisses me off beyond belief that I have to rearrange travel, hotel and ticket plans. That is if I can even make a Sunday night show now! Very disappointed in you Tom...

I bought these tickets for my boyfriend's birthday and as our big goodbye. I'm moving away from NC and we decided not to try long distance. So thank you sooooo much TP. I've had it with concerts. Already have had to deal with rescheduled Def Leppard and canceled Aerosmith over the past 2 years. WTF is going on with these people? I won't be a hardcore fan much longer if I keep getting treated like crap.

So disappointing. I know that these things happen & at least they aren't cancelling the whole tour. There may be other issues with the Dallas show - it may be during the State Fair? School may make us miss the show as well - and we splurged for 4th row. Do you think they would refund our Highway Companion fee too?

In LA we had the option of spending Saturday night under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl, or a Thursday night in Irvine. No brainer right, so you pay more and get worse tickets, but know that it will be a great time. Now the Saturday night is in Irvine, all the good seats are already gone, and if you don't live here, October 1 is not summer weather even in SoCal. Could you please explain why the tour couldn't have started before the album is released. I think people would rather keep their plans and hear the music for the first time, or release the singles you are going to play. Unless I am confused, I bet they are already buring the discs. Maybe I am getting a little old for concerts, but I think this will be the last dance for me.

What is the status with the Louisville show (5/12)?? It isn't on the list of rescheduled shows -- did it get dropped? Like most folks, spent a good deal of money for the show and want to know if I'm waiting 6 months now to see it, if it will there at all...... Man what a mess for those that made plans!!
katapru's picture

Stoner Petty ruining everyone's plans. It IS a big deal. And TBD means no Joe Cocker. Wow, I will never purchase another tix for these jokers. Just because the album isn't ready? Don't like what I've heard of it anyway. Poor excuse

As we all know, the waiting is the hardest part.

Tom Petty is BAR NONE the coolest musician out there and he loves his fans. He wouldn't do anything to purposely screw anyone over.
