    Roy Orbison Honored With Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame
    The late Roy Orbison is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during an unveiling ceremony on Jan. 29.

    Orbison grew up in Wink, Texas, and recorded for Sun Records, becoming part of the label's artist roster. During his tenure on Nashville-based Monument Records, he recorded a string of hits such as "Only the Lonely," "Blue Bayou," and "Oh Pretty Woman." In addition to his solo career, he spent part of the '80s as a member of the Traveling Wilburys with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and George Harrison.

Why do people always wait until the named is dead and gone? It's about damn time and really all but too late. I saw visions of Roy playing in spirit at Sun Studios awhile back. What a gentle soul and much loved by many including you Tom and guys.

Roy Orbison was a one of a kind. Such a beautiful voice! Shame it didn't happen sooner so he could have enjoyed it.
