North Little Rock, AR 04/21

Apr 21 2012
North Little Rock, AR
Verizon Arena

"Thank you, Little Rock. This is our first time in Arkansas, but it won't be our last. We'll be back real soon!"

With that, Tom waved goodnight to the 15,000-plus screaming Heartbreaker fans that packed Verizon Arena. Saturdays usually make for rowdy shows, but when combined with the fact that this was the band's first visit to Arkansas, tonight's show in Little Rock was arguably the band's strongest performance on the tour to date.

Tom and the band love opening shows with the jangling rocker "Listen to Her Heart," but it was the one-two punch of "You Wreck Me" and "I Won't Back Down" that whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

"Takin' My Time" - off 2010's Mojo album - emerged for the first time this tour, pairing perfectly with the band's cover of Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man" for a nice blues interlude in the middle of the set.

"Melinda" also made its debut on the 2012 Summer Tour in Little Rock, giving Benmont Tench room to stretch out in the song's breakdown and pound away at his Steinway with reckless abandon.

By the time Tom and Mike Campbell strapped on their Firebirds for "Runnin' Down A Dream," Verizon Arena was buzzing. Another great night with the Heartbreakers in the books.

Darn, I was at this show and saw the guitar changes but didn't think to take note of how many different guitars Tom and Mike used! Anyone know? What a great time and what a great show! Thanks again for coming to Arkansas!

The set list posted is one song short - "Runnin' Down A Dream" was played after "Refugee"

TOM!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! What a blast. Would take the drive from Madison to Little Rock again tomorrow. The Heartbreakers are the BEST!! Danced with the crowd in row 7 for two hours. Wish it didn't have to end. Hey TP& the HB, it was my first visit to Little Rock too. Great host town! Nothin' but fun!

Thank you for coming to Little Rock. My 16 year old daughter has been crazy about Regina Spektor for a couple of years so this was dream come true concert for the two of us. What a GREAT show! Thank you! Thank you! Thank YOU!!!!

Tom and the band were awesome last night. I was on row 3, in the middle. Met some fantastic fans. The place went crazy for hours. Regina Spector was a real suprise for me- her lyrics are poignant, and she's ahellofa great musician. Great concert. Get tickets if you can.

Thank you for coming to Little Rock. I have been a fan of your music for many, many years. To see you perform it live was awesome. Please come back and see us soon!

It took ya'll to bring me out of concert retirement. So well worth it. You said you'd never been to Arkansas......everyone in Arkansas is well aware of that. It's taken you 30+ years, but better late than never. Great show.....wish you'd have broke down. If you needed back up singers for that, I"d have been glad to have helped out. Doesn't matter though...there were lots of groups in the parking lot after the show singing it just cause they'd (we'd) practiced so much. Thanks again for putting us on your tour dates. Hope to see ya'll again.....soon.

Just got back from the show. So good to see the Heartbreakers again. A nice show lots of the hits and some covers. the crowd was enthusiastic. Enjoyed Toms comments about guitar thieves during Spike. Yer So Bad was great to hear. Anyway I think everyone had a great time!

I am so excited to see TP. I have never seen him before and I'm taking my husband and two other friends...we're driving from Fort Smith, AR. I have been in love with several of their songs for quite some time....I just really need to hear "And it's hard to say...who ya are these days...but ya run on anyway, don'tcha baby". My favorite! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!

I too had an easy experience with the pre-sale. My code worked fine, and in 1 minute I had 2 tickets 9 rows up in 107, which is where I wanted. Will be my 6th TPATHB show, and the first in my hometown. I am stoked!

This Indiana Girl is taking a well deserved roadtrip down a hwy she hasn't traveled....Be nice to me Little Rock lol. I don't need a lot in life, but I need this, so I'm willing to travel.....Please give this show some righteous play time sweet music dudes :)

I'm sorry some people had bad luck or couldn't figure out how the presale worked. I know how frustrating it can be. I'd like to counter some of the negativity though by letting you know that some people did get good seats. I was in and out of ticketmaster in less than a minute with 6th row floor seats so the presale can and does work but it is NOT guaranteeing you seats exactly where you want them.

Being From Gaineville and seeing Petty at Dubs it will be a BLAST to see him in Little Rock!True Life Long Fan Shannon

I had a chance some years ago to see TPHB just a few miles from the house, but had a gig. The gig sucked. Should have cancelled and gone to the show. I'm NOT missing them this go around!

I"m old. There hasn't been a concert I"ve wanted to see in a long long time. I remember tickets being 6.50 and 8.50 at Barton and you went just for something to do. Those days are gone forever. For at least a decade, I"ve said the only bands I"d like to see are Tom Petty and Pink Floyd. Well, at least one wish is coming true. I remember hearing Here Comes My Girl and thinking..I hope some day someone sings a song just like that to me. On April 21st, he will. Can you tell I"m excited. Thanks to whoever said...let's go play in the Rock!!!! I"m sure I won't be they only one there who remembers Bob Seger backing up Kiss in '76. What a long, strange trip it's been. See ya'll there!

Spent a frustrating 24 hours trying to get the code and tickets even though I jumped through all the hoops. Seems like they want you to pay for the privilege of buying tickets! Huh? Saw TPHB in KC and it was terrific but am wondering now whether I'll try again. No response from 'Contact us.' Sounds like I am not alone!

Are only paid subscription members receiving the pre-sale code? I don't see it. Anyone have the answer

SO glad TPHB are coming to AR!!!!!

Ticketmaster won't accept my HC Club code, can't buy tickets. I've sent 3 messages to HC Club peeps and no response. Real disappointing . Only joined for the presale benefits. Is anybody out there?
lyfestyl's picture

can't seem to find the pre-sale code. logged in and verified. still no code.
