Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek

Looking out across the lawn Saturday as dusk fell on Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh, NC, I'm reminded of what a diverse bunch Heartbreaker Nation is.

We're young, and we're old(er). We're moms and we're daughters, sons and we're fathers. We're white and we're black, and all shades in between. We come from all walks of life and along all points of the journey, gathering together to celebrate an amazing band and a songbook that has served as the soundtrack to so many of our lives.

ZZ Top added to Saturday's celebration with a solid set of hits spanning their four-decade career. Howling wolves summoned Billy, Dusty and Frank to the stage, and the trio didn't relent for 90 minutes, the packed amphitheater rocking to "She's Got Legs," "Waiting for the Bus," and "Cheap Sunglasses."

Few bands out there can follow ZZ Top, but everyone in attendance knew we were in capable hands after a blistering "I Won't Back Down" when Tom stepped to the mike and yelled, "Raleigh, North Carolina on a Saturday night!" A downright spooky take on Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" led perfectly into "Mary Jane's Last Dance," but the highlight of the night was "Learning to Fly," as thousands of Heartbreakers fans stretching from the front row to the lawn sang along to the famous chorus.

Charlotte, get ready! Remember to check back for more from the Mojo tour!

Thankyou for another excellent show. What a great vacation in the U.S.!!!!!!!...Raleigh and Charlotte back to back shows --- well worth the trip. Drove to the Toronto show as well -- can't say which one was the best, we are never disappointed. Seeing ZZTop was a real bonus, I have always wanted to see them live. I hope some day Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers come back to Ottawa...it's been a very long time! Great new album, great tour...can't wait for the next tour. Get well soon Tom!

This was my first time seeing Tom Petty & the second time I have seen ZZ Top live. We had lawn seats which were not bad for a view of the stage & the sound was great. The show was special for me because it was my first time that I had seen Tom Petty, plus I took my two daughtes with me. So, it was dad & daughters night. Once ZZ took the stage everyone got the boogie on & dance the entire set!! Next, Tom & the boys took the stage & just had a super set of songs. We saw Kiss a couple of weeks ago & it was more about theater, but Tom & the Heartbreakers show was all about the music. Wow! I loved the lasers & all the tv screens in the background. Plus, where do Mike & Tom store all of those guitars. They had a guitar army for sure. I loved it!! The band was tight & the songs were incredible. I can't wait for you guys to come back!!

I've seen TP many times, the first was way Back in '80 or '81. As always it was a great show. He played my two favorites, the first song and the last song (Listen To Her Heart and American Girl). Be happy just seeing him, his catalog of great songs is so big, he can't play them all. ZZ Top was a great opening act, those old dudes can still rock...lol. Great job and Thanks, to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

We saw Tom and the guys in Denver with Pearl Jam 3-4 years ago but indoors. I liked the outdoor vibe so much better and Raleigh was a much smaller venue compared to others we've been in. We won tickets as part of the Mojo Listening parties and the Tom Petty folks did not disappoint. We were within 10 feet of both bands - excellent seats! At the end of the show I said "Thank you" to Tom and he mouthed "Thank You" back which was pretty cool in my opinion. "Learning to Fly" was fantastic but my favorite is always "Breakdown" at his concerts. I can't thank the Tom Petty organization enough for the whole Mojo listening party package...It was an incredible night that I will not soon forget. I was the fan that never sat down and never stopped dancing the entire time ZZ Top & TPATH were on stage.

" Oh Baby felt like Heaven that Night....like something from a Dream.....Don't feel like that night may never be again"....Thanks Tom and The Heartbreakers for the night of my life! I won front row seats! I am the crazy female directly in front of you dancing and screaming...my friend was taking all the pictures! We will never forget it....loved you in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.. but nothing can top Raleigh..drove nine hours "Runnin Down a Dream" Great show! A Dream come true! Hope you felt it too!

This was my second show for this tour. It was awesome! AWESOME! my first vip show and that is the way Petty is meant to be seen...he is so grateful to his fans and rocks the show to the best of his ability! He is so wonderful at his craft and I love it! As long as Tom & the Heartbreakers will tour I will be screaming, singing and jammin' in the crowd!

I still can't believe I was actually there!! I won tickets and was in the third row. I almost collapsed from all the excitement. It was amazing. Best concert I have ever seen (including the first time I saw TPHB in 1994).

When I was 9 my mom promised to take me to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers after years of listening to me singing Breakdow incessantly . I'll be 35 in 2 months and last night my mom finally fulfilled that promise. Thank you for making it worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The show in Raleigh Saturday night was unforgettable!! ZZ Top opened the show and played everything we all wanted to hear!! But we were there to hear Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!! We were not disappointed!! Tom plays all our favorite hits and played 4 songs from Mojo!! We went all the way and did the Mojo VIP and it was well worth the money to sit in the front row!! Tom and Mike were very personable and we had many eye contact moments with them!! My husband was lucky enough to get 2 guitar picks and one of Mike's slides that Mike autographed!! Long live Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers many times and I've been close to the stage several times but this time we were 2 rows from the stage. I had several eye to eye moments with Tom and the great Mike Campbell. What a kick-ass rocking show!! You can't go wrong with ZZ Top and Petty on the same stage. I saw Tom P. in Northern VA on Aug 15th too. I wish I had gone to more shows. This tour really rocked!! Go get 'em Tom, you blew us all away!! Thanks mucho man!! Jimmy

I am so excited about the show tomorrow night! I Since you are coming to the south, maybe you could play "Southern Accent" or "Down South". No matter what you play, I know it will be awesome! It always is! I can't wait!!!!

I am really hoping that Tom breaks from the set list and plays "Rebels" for this show! "The Waiting" would be pretty awesome, too...

I am pretty sure the add on for VIP only includes a special VIP drink tent and VIP parking. The drink tent has alcoholic drinks (rum, vodka, etc) for purchase, as well as beer, wine. The VIP parking is very close to the VIP tent entrance, and you can get there a little quickerthan waiting in line for regular parking. I am not sure it is worth it, I had it included in a package I did several years ago, I am pretty sure you still have to pay for the drinks, in addition to the $40 PP.

Does anyone know the details ref the VIP add on for this show? It is different from the MOJO package. When you go to purchase, there is an offer, for an additional $40 per person to add on a VIP package but no details on what the package includes. Thanks in advance!
