The rock 'n roll life is often compared to running off to join the circus, so it seemed apropos that Friday's show was in fact held underneath a circus tent as a part of the Live at the Marquee concert series held every summer in Cork, Ireland. Alan Rogan knows a thing or two about guitars. Beyond working with the Heartbreakers, Alan has handled axes for the likes of Pete Townsend, Keith Richards, George Harrison and Joe Walsh. He's an avid collector and musician in his own right, with a new album out with his band, Blues Club.

In this episode of Roganville, Alan gives us a backstage peek at a couple of Tom's Rickenbackers. Featuring the band's performance of "Saving Grace" from Austin, TX on May 5, 2012.

For the first time in more than 20 years, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are touring Europe, arriving yesterday in Dublin, Ireland for their opening show at the O2 Thursday night.

Here are a few photos of the band's gear as it was loaded into a 747 cargo plane in St. John's, Newfoundland for the flight over the Atlantic to Ireland last Monday. Production Manager Chris Adamson (pictured below) and Guitar Tech Alan Rogan accompanied the gear on the five-hour flight, braving frigid temperatures without an in-flight movie or beverage service.

The Blind Boys of Alabama once again opened the show on Sunday, delivering an incredible hour-long set highlighted by their stirring performance of "Amazing Grace" set to the tune of "House of The Rising Sun." Everyone with the Blind Boys of Alabama - from the band to their crew - were incredible to have for these Canadian dates, and the entire Heartbreakers family will miss having them out on the tour.
