    The Heartbreakers landmark 1979 Album is re-released today as an expanded and remastered edition featuring previously unreleased tracks from the Damn The Torpedoes sessions. The Deluxe Edition is available with a choice of four formats: (1) on two-CDs, (2) on one audiophile quality Blu-ray disc, (3) on 2 180-gram vinyl LPs and (4) as an iTunes LP.

    All formats of the Deluxe Edition come with nine additional bonus tracks not included on the original album. Seven of these tracks are previously unreleased including two studio tracks from the original Damn The Torpedoes sessions: “Nowhere”

    VH1 Classic Programming Re-Airing! Don’t miss the Classic Albums Damn The Torpedoes documentary and the 1978 New Year’s Eve Concert Live From The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium!

    Yesterday November 7 VH1 Classic ran a 5 hour Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers marathon in support of tomorrow’s release of Damn The Torpedoes – Deluxe Edition. The marathon included two world television premieres; the Damn The Torpedoes Classic Albums documentary and the December 31, 1978 concert from The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

    The Tuesday November 9 release of Damn The Torpedoes – Deluxe Edition will be supported by VH1 Classic with 5 straight hours of programming on Sunday November 7 starting at 3pm EST/PDT. The 5 hour block will include two world television premieres; the Damn The Torpedoes Classic Albums documentary and the December 31, 1978 concert from The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

    Billed as tribute to Tom on his 60th birthday, Petty Fest 2010 lived up to expectations on all fronts as more than 25 musicians, actors, and artists gathered October 28 at a sold-out Bowery Ballroom for a whiskey-fueled, three-hour tour through Heartbreaker hits and deeper cuts as well as songs from Tom’s solo albums.

    Though the birthday boy himself was not in attendance, there was plenty of star power in the house, brought together by Rolling Stone editor Austin Scaggs, who played bass in house band, The Cabin Below Band, and handled emcee duties for the evening.

    The vinyl format ofDamn the Torpedoes - Deluxe Editionis (2) 180 Gram LPs mastered for vinyl from the original analog master tapes at Bernie Grundman Studios and pressed by Pallas in Germany. Includes 12 page full color book featuring liner notes by noted rock journalist/author David Fricke, rare photos, and lyrics to each track.
