Well, we have reached the final week. The seventh of seven weeks of seven inches!

And, this week's single is HERE COMES MY GIRL, from Damn The Torpedoes.

Here Comes My Girl is the third single from that album which also contains the beloved singles Don't Do Me Like That and Refugee. Here Comes My Girl and its accompanying video helped cement the band in the public consciousness and turn Damn The Torpedoes into the blockbuster we all know.

Damn The Torpedoes is an album that launched many a fan's love affair with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.

    Happy New Year!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful holiday season and are refreshed and ready for Week 6.

We know, we know…it took a minute. But it's worth the wait because Week 6's single is REBELS.

Rebels is the second single from 1985's Southern Accents album and holds the distinction of being the first Heartbreakers track to feature horns.

Musically this song is a triumph and the "hey hey hey!" refrain in the chorus only helps to enhance that feeling. Rebels also contains some of Tom's most evocative lyrics.

Tom has described Rebels as a "story song about a guy being arrested for

The moment you've all been waiting for is here! It's the release of the Week 5 single and accompanying question.

And the single is... Refugee, from Damn The Torpedoes.

What can you say about Refugee? It's a Heartbreakers anthem known the world over and the fact that it often gets the honor of closing the band's shows says it all.

The swamp blues It's Rainin' Again is the b-side to Refugee worldwide and it also made an appearance on Playback and the 2010 deluxe reissue of Damn The Torpedoes.

OK, here is this week's question.

This week's featured single is You Got Lucky from the 1982 album Long After Dark.   This tune reached #1 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks Chart and to this day is one of Tom and The Heartbreakers' recognizable songs. It was also the first time the Heartbreakers used a real synthesizer on a track!

The b-side on this single is the rocker Between Two Worlds, also from Long After Dark.

    Below is this week's question.

Next up is Jammin' Me, the first single from Let Me Up (I've Had Enough).

Tom co-wrote this song with Bob Dylan and Mike Campbell. The first part of the writing came during a songwriting session Tom and Bob had at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles. This session also produced "I Got My Mind Made Up" which would appear on Dylan's 1986 Knocked Out Loaded album.

The b-side on this single is Make That Connection which like Gator On The Lawn also appears on Playback and as the 1994 UK only release of the "Mary Jane's Last Dance" single.

    Below is this week's question.

We continue with a fan favorite from 1981's Hard Promises.

A Woman In Love (It's Not Me) was the first single released from Hard Promises and the b-side is Gator On The Lawn, a rarity that also appears on the Playback album and as the b-side to the 1994 UK only release of the "Mary Jane's Last Dance" single.

    Below is this week's question.

Send us your answer and you could win a copy of the original A Woman In Love (It's Not Me) 7" and be entered to win Tom Petty autographed copies of all the 7" singles we are featuring on the site over this 7 week period!
