UPDATE: Please see message here for an update on Early Entry into The Fonda.
Greetings Highway Companions!
The shows in Evansville, at Hangout, and at the Beacon Theatre were absolutely incredible! For complete recaps of each night’s shows including setlists and photos, visit TomPetty.com here. We are so excited to do it again next week at the Fonda!
The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles is a primarily standing room-only venue. We want to give Highway Companions Club members a chance to gain early entry into the venue, prior to the general public, so you can grab a good spot to see the band!
The fourth night of the Beacon residency began as all the previous nights have, exploding out of the gates to raucous cheers with "So You Want To Be A Rock & Roll Star."
As Rolling Stone rock critic David Fricke commented in one of his extensive reviews of the first few Beacon shows, The Byrds cover has evolved night in and night out, especially Mike Campbell's guitar solo, which went from bouncy at the beginning of the week to a note-bending mind warp by Saturday. Saturday saw Tom and the guys' first stab at Into The Great Wide Open with a stellar "Two Gunslingers," along with selections
"Hey Tom, why not make this an annual thing?!"
The belted fan suggestion between "Night Watchman" and "Good Enough" elicited a huge cheer among fans in the first few rows, an approving point from Benmont Tench and smiles across the stage at the Beacon Theatre Thursday night, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' third night of this weeklong residency at one of New York's legendary rooms.

Tuesday was the second night of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ five-show residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre, coming hot on the heels of Monday’s instant-classic concert.
While Tuesday night offered up more tour debuts, #1 hits and deep cuts, it was a moment early in the concert that really showed how much fun Tom and the guys are having on this tour.
As the cheers died down after the band ended “When The Time Comes” off You’re Gonna Get It, Benmont Tench turned toward his Hammond organ and glanced out across the stage at his bandmates from

Long after Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers took a final bow at the lip of the stage in front of a sold-out Beacon Theatre and the grateful crowd exited after an incredible first night of the band’s 2013 Beacon residency, the old theater on Broadway and 74th Street that’s hosted so many legendary concerts was still buzzing from the night’s performance. The lights may have been turned off, the amps powered down and the guitars put away, but the room was still alive and very much electric.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers kicked off their 21-show North American tour last night with two-plus hours of rock 'n roll in Evansville, Indiana that found Tom and the band dusting off some old gems and deep album cuts for a grateful standing-room-only crowd at the Ford Center.
Opening with The Byrds' "So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star," Tom and the guys dug deep on night one of the tour, crafting the setlist with hits, some choice covers and a handful of deep cuts that hadn't been performed in years.
