Whether it was the bar set by Crosby, Stills and Nash with their outstanding opening set, the electricity created by over 20,000 screaming Heartbreakers fans or the steamy Southern heat, the Heartbreakers came to play in Virginia, proving once again the old maxim that Sunday shows should not be missed.

"...the anthemic -Don't Come Around Here No More" absolutely rocked Bridgestone Arena, which no doubt pleased producer Dave Stewart standing sidestage, a black hat and dark sunglasses barely disguising his wide grin.

At a few minutes past 9 pm, Tom and the band took the stage to thunderous applause and launched straight away into a jangling "Listen to Her Heart." "Kings Highway" returned to the show after a month-long absence from the setlist, but the real treat tonight was the seemingly impromptu take on Chuck Berry's "Carol" sandwiched in between encores "Running Down a Dream" and "American Girl."

Last night, Tom and the guys returned to Philadelphia's Wachovia Center for another sold out show. Just a day after his 74th birthday, blues legend Buddy Guy got the party started early, parading through the crowd on the arena floor while bursts of blues fire emanated from his white Fender Stratocaster.

With a recuperated Mike Campbell in tow, Tom and the gang came out guns blazing in Detroit. "We're in a city that likes to rock, so how 'bout we play some rock music, ok?" Tom asked the Palace crowd, which responded with a resounding roar.

Mike played his heart out as usual, but after suffering from heat exhaustion that forced him to leave the stage late in the set for a ten-minute break, he returned ... the roar from the appreciative amphitheater was deafening.

Soon after taking the stage, Tom promised the capacity crowd that they would have some serious fun on this Saturday night. "We're gonna raise hell here in Chicago," he said. Well it didn't take long before total pandemonium erupted inside the giant packed arena with the opening of "Free Fallin.'" Rare are the songs that can be identified within the first few notes, but "Free Fallin'" is definitely one of them. Never fails to produce goose bumps...
